Root Cyanogenmod 13 Beta 1

Okay, I figured I should finally do this since I've been using this ROM as my daily for several weeks now. I've not had many problems with this ROM... its very stable and I will continue to use it as my daily for this phone since it seems to perform so well. My current setup, I'm using this ROM, TWRP 3.0.0 and have my SD card formatted to be used as internal storage. I cannot flash files on my sdcard from recovery, but the loophole I've been using is copying the files into /cache using a root file explorer, rebooting to recovery, then flashing what I need from there. I've also had some luck using Flashify, which does something similar for safe flashing. I've also got the quick remote installed and working with this ROM.. there's just no specific support for my TV (Vizio) though I can get power/volume working by using the LG model, just no input selection with the remote.

I'll start with data since I'm on Sprint Prepaid. With the all in one apn fix, data, including LTE works fantastically. I won't say perfectly, because the LTE seems more fragile than before. When I've got a weak LTE signal, more often than not, my phone will drop LTE for 3G when it did not before. One example is where I work as the LTE signal has never been strong at all, while on a stock based ROM I'm on LTE 90% of the time with the occasional drop to 3G. On this ROM, I'm on 3G at least 60% of the time with very instable LTE. There have been times where I've been on 3G, disable data, enable data (sitting in the same spot) and LTE comes back on and sticks for a bit, until it drops back to 3G again and stays there. Sometimes when it switches, it will get stuck in a limbo with no data at all for 15-30 seconds. I also have random times (mostly when switching off of wifi, but not always) where LTE will get stuck in a loop. It will show no bars/no data, connect, get full bars, LTE shows up for a split second, and then it goes back to no bars/no data almost immediately. It's never happened to me where I'm in a place to grab a log, but a simple restart of the phone fixes it just fine. I've tried turning data off/on and even airplane mode with limited success, but a reboot is the only thing that will absolutely fix it. With all that said, these problems really don't bother me much... the random disconnects and loss of signal is at most once a week and completely random as far as I can tell.

I've had some issues with the lock screen as well. I use a PIN secured lock screen and whenever a notification pops up, I double tap it to open the app, but when I enter my PIN, the 0 key pressable area is almost half hidden. It seems the bottom half of the key is covered by something I can't see that doesn't allow me to press it. This happens when opening from a notification or even when opening the settings from the pull down menu, normal unlocking is not affected by this at all. One other issue I've noticed that hasn't had any impact on me, inside the settings, Cellular Network, the Carrier Settings crashes com.android.phone as soon as you click on it which resets my signal/data connection... so I just don't click on it :p Other things that don't work, one I've already noted, being the compass as it'd be a nice to have, but I don't rely on it for anything. Screencast is somewhat flaky... it works for the most part, but sometimes it just doesn't want to. I'm able to cast Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, Spotify with no issues, but sometimes when playing a video in the browser, the stream will just die as it starts to play. I've casted my phone screen a couple of times which works just fine as well.

I've never had a green tint on my camera or any problems with it really, no matter the ROM, so the camera has not been an issue for me. I'm able to take photos, videos, use snapchat, everything works just fine. HD video playback works for me, no lagging, though normally I just watch in 480 anyway.. I have tried some 720p videos on youtube and such. I've also done some HD streaming through Netflix as well with no problems.

That's about everything I can think of... I've really had no big issues with this ROM at all. Very nicely done with it! I honestly hate this phone for its low RAM and the toll that takes on multitasking, but this ROM really makes that a bunch easier to deal with. Thank you for all the hard work put into this by everyone!

Pretty much mirrors my experience.

As for multitasking apps. I've been able to multitask better (Pandora radio + other app in my case) when I upped ZRam to 400mb and swappiness to 100 using "Kernel Adiutor" from the Google Play Store. I found though you have to first turn off ZRam (slider to zero in app) and wait a bit before setting it up to 400mb. Otherwise the system's current default settings will want to override this. You can verify with the "free" command in adb or android terminal app to view ram and swap space free/used. Once your satisfied set "Apply on boot" to make it permanent.

I agree setting zram to 400mb definitely helps with multitasking and performance

I'll have to give that a go... I haven't had many multitasking problems with this ROM thankfully. I'm able to play Spotify and browse the web anyway. I tweaked a lot of that stuff while on stock, just haven't felt the need to do so yet :) Currently the only app that won't stay open is FB Messenger and that's primarily while I'm in a call and go to do something else, so its worth a shot!

What arm bit is lg volt ls740?
Hope this helps you :)
(Keep in mind that I'm using cm11 but I'm pretty sure that the ARM version is the same on all the Roms)

I had the same problems at first. Like the thread specifically for apn said flash most recent I believe build #2. Turn wifi, Bluetooth off, I have used with Ringplus and boost. Select Preferred Net type LTE automatic, enable data, under system and elect automatic. Here's where I ran into trouble. I don't have LTE service at home, only 3G and below. By going into your dialer dial *#*#4636#*# then phone info, scroll, you'll see LTE CDMA PRL Auto THIS is where I had to select 3G autoprl and toggle the radio onn n off and on a few times while also exiting and going to mobile networks and toggling. It wasn't until I came into LTE service where I could select the correct settings and then exit that area where are the system would automatically toggle. Believe me it took me a couple days to figure out. Also I know there is an issue that I read somewhere that if you are not installing G apps at the same time installing the wrong version or upgrading to the new Google dialer or messenger it can tweak the settings easily I've managed to do it a couple times already. Good luck
So I followed what u said twice, and nothing happened...(at least not with my data) I really want to use this ROM, but I need someone to give me a fix that works.

Hey fellas. Been a lurker on these forums for the better part of 6 years but this ROM finally prompted me to make some words. After coming from a rather difficult experience with CM 12 I have been floored by the work you all have put in on CM 13. I even had one of the difficult Volts (Virgin Mobile) that wouldn't take the LTE fixes until Change of Jinzo came along.

On the whole I believe just about everything works on this, and I'd be happy to assist where I can moving forward. Cheers to Android 6.0 on our Volts!

Okay, time to update again. I forgot to mention one issue that's plagued me from the beginning but still isn't a big deal, auto-rotation. It works fine at first, but after normal use it will randomly stop working. I've gotten it to start working again by toggling some rotation settings, but that rarely fixes it, requiring me to reboot to get rotation working again. I also have been having issues with Facebook Messenger, since updating the app this weekend it will now just force close when I try to open it. I remember seeing someone else mention this but can't seem to find it this morning. I've tried clearing cache/data and even uninstall/reinstall with no luck.

This morning, for some reason, some of my development settings were reset or cleared out also. I thought I lost root access, but it somehow got turned off along with adb debugging. I have not turned those off myself recently, they were both working fine last week, but this morning suddenly no more root. I've been through a couple of reboots over the weekend, but nothing else really, so I'm not sure why they got reset...

Other than that, everything is still running smoothly.

@whoshotjr2006 Anyway you can compare and merge the camera code from your https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722641185 build to the CM13 build to fix the green tint problem for some of us? That's the only none-stock build that fixed my Volt's green tint and focusing issue. I can live with all the other problems, but without a working camera, it's very difficult to use the phone as a daily driver. Much appreciated!

Anyone know how to copy files over to the SD card once it's been formated as "Internal Storage"? I've got ~20GB of music that I like to keep on my phone, but the Volt's meager capacity can't handle it, and I can't get my laptop to see anything but "Internal Storage" in the file explorer. Tried to connect via SSH as well, but that was a bust :/

I would use try es file explorer (preferably an older version that isn't ********) or andftp and dump it out to an external ssh server.

Maybe you could use a static compiled scp or rsync binary and do it from command line with that? I have gentoo running from an SD card that I would just use rsync from that.

I set up a network share folder on my PC I then used es file explorer to search my home network for my PC and just coped everything over
