Doh! Don't Do That!

typical eyestrain, and common sense will prevent it.

don't watch a tv in a dark room, keep a background light on behind the TV

it is similar to looking at the sun, spots burn in the retina of the eye.
just to a different degree.

with the sun, blindness can be permanent, with the TV depending on degree of use, it should just be temporary over a few minutes or hours.

So this means there will be mandatory warnings for screen brightness now, besides the headphone audio volume warnings we already have, because of dimwit lawsuits and things.

I am dark-adapted, and the absolute worst thing is when I am in bed trying to get to sleep and Dngrswife wants me to see some post on her Facebook page.

Her phone is always set to max brightness and it's like a pair of knives stabbing straight into my brain.

Well doctor I kept my Maglite shining straight into my eyes in a dark room....

Same reason you get a peanut allergy warning on a bag of peanuts or one of my favorites ....
