Scroll/Tap issues / Screen Sensitivity

I've just bought a 3rd Gen Moto G, running MM, and I can't scroll though anything without links opening and 'liking' things - the screen is hugely jerky and oversensitive (particularly compared to the 1st Gen, which still works like a dream). I've set touch delay to long and decreased the mouse pointer speed but its made no difference. Is this a known issue or have I just got a bad unit? About to send it back.

I have the same phone. In Yahoo mail the back arrow icon is not sensitive to tapping all the time but all other apps are OK. I do see significant jerkiness when scrolling if the battery saver mode is on and the battery has less than 15% charge. The pin number security keypad and the phone dialer keypad is a little slow to respond but acceptable. Hope this is useful.

This seems to be one of the more common problems with the Moto G 2015, it is mentioned quite often and seems to get much worse under Marshmallow compared to Lollipop.

Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done on a stock device (on unlocked, rooted devices the old Lollipop display driver can be flashed to replace the Marshmallow one, which sometimes helps). If you have a screen protector, especially a tempered glass one, try removing it since in some cases it helps, and sometimes eliminates it.

The only other recourse is to try a factory reset, which occasionally fixes the issue, but more often than not, RMAing the device to Moto for a replacement is your only option.

I have a tempered glass screen protector too. All the lag ive noticed (that makes me accidentally open unintendedly links and what not) seems to only happen in chrome. chrome can be laggy on a LOT of sites. Engadget for example. I try scrolling it jams up for a second not moving like I didn't even touch the screen then all of a sudden it starts scrolling.
Now try Engadget with Firefox Android with the u-block origin extension, buttery smooth.
But if you don't want to use Firefox, there's apks of chromium forks out there that are optimized for snapdragon processors that also have built-in ad blocking (im using yubrowser) where You can stay synched to chrome with your Google account but you don't get the lag. The way many mobile sites are flooded with ads these days it can really jam things up.

if you're having these touch screen issues outside of the brower, then maybe it's a defective device. I haven't noticed it on my g3 unless I'm in chrome.
