Well, you have had this a few months now... Any further impressions you can share? Any problems with the phone falling? Is it difficult to remove and most importantly to me, does it scratch the case?
I was going to post the steelie as my favourite, and was pretty pleased to find that someone else already has. This is by far the best mount I have ever seen. This is btw, the third phone I have used it on.
The only drawback is having a piece permanently (with double sided tape) stuck to the back of your phone. Personally this does not bother me, and makes it easier to grab it off a table.
Seeing as it's stuck on to the phone, you need somewhere smooth to stick it. Which means that cases can be a problem. My first phone I was able to stick it to the case, my second phone I had to cut a hole in the case, and my case has not arrived for my new phone yet. Obviously your dashboard needs somewhere smooth to stick the base to as well.
The magnet is strong enough that the phone will not fall off, when you remove the phone you can feel the magnet's grip strength. Trust me, it's solid.
My one piece of advice is to mount the piece on your phone off-centre so that gravity will keep the phone oriented the way you want it. It also matters where the base will be mounted. If the base is mounted on a horizontal surface, then put the phone bit near the middle but off centre. If the base will be on a vertical surface, put the phone bit near the edge. Basically the mount will be the pivot point, so think about what angle you want the phone to hang.
My one complaint about it is that I think it overpriced for what it is, and I was very pleased when I found a knock off at my local electronics store.
