I have Galaxy S6 , and it is supposed to have 32GB .

When I go to settings , I get the followings :

Internal Storage : 32GB total space , 12.27 GB available .
Phone Storage : 32GB total space , 8.49 GB available .

1. How much storage do I have here exactly ? 32 ? 64 ?
2. When I take pictures , I can take no more than 540MB (!) of photos , after that I get a message that there is no storage available , even though that there is clearly a lot of free space .

Folks , please help me resolve this .

Thanks ,

Ronit

Possibly it's a fake Galaxy S6? And 547MB storage might actually be correct? We've had similar things before with Samsungs. Where did you buy it?

Can you post some more details about the phone, specifically what's in device information, things like model number, kernel version, baseband, etc., attach screen-shots if necessary. Also install Storage Truth, written by @scary alien That will tell you exactly what's going on with it. Again post the results.

Yes, imprecise names like "internal storage" vs "phone storage" can cause confusion. The space available to the user is always less than the total because the system software and firmware uses part of it - I'd expect a 32GB S6 would have 20-something of usable storage, before you start using the phone.

The Storage Truth app will give a clear answer to what storage partitions you have and how much space is used on each.

So, once you have 540MB of photographs that you've taken with your phone, it won't let you take anymore? And, just to clarify, you do mean photos and not videos?

Once you have hit this 540MB mark and receive the message about not having enough space, can you still install games/apps from the Play Store?
