I'm confused about how to do this.
What I want to accomplish is to transfer the entire contents of my Android tablet to my Windows 7 laptop so I can:
1. Safely back up all of the apps and app data on my tablet to the laptop and;
2. Run all the apps that are on the tablet on the laptop too.
I don't necessarily need to be able to synchronize the tablet and laptop in #2. Just want to be able to transfer everything on the tablet to the laptop one time and then be able to use whatever was transferred on the laptop (unsynchronized).
I know I need an Android emulator and there will probably be differences of opinion here as to which one is the best. But part of what is confusing is that they all seem to be made primarily for running Android games. I am not interested in the games, I need this to use a lot of different non-game apps. I can't find much information about whether or not there are emulators that work well with (or even specialize in) non-game apps.
Maybe it doesn't make any difference and the game emulators all work well with normal apps? I just am not sure.
I don't have much else but apps and app data on my tablet. I don't use it to keep contact info, a calendar, etc. (except I use google apps to do email and google related apps like calendars). But I don't store any of that stuff on the tablet, it's all on google. I only use the tablet for running apps. So my main interest is being able to back up those apps and their data safely and being able to also run those apps on my laptop.
I would appreciate advice from anyone who can give me their opinion of what is the best emulator to use for this and what is the best way to backup all of my apps and data to my laptop so that I don't have to worry if my tablet dies. Thanks for any help!
