Help Android TV box 'adopted memory'?

In the Android version 6 or later when you insert a Micro SD card into your phone you
can format it as "adopted memory" (if it passes the 'speed test' when you format it.)

This basically means that the card becomes a part of the phones 'internal' memory.
(It also means that you can't remove it and expect the phone to work normally!)

Does anyone know if you can do the same thing with an Android TV box running Android 6?

I could see that a 32 gigabyte 'adopted' memory card would make things a lot easier when it came to storing information, KODI settings and app data, etc...
