Received your replacement note? Post here!

Swapped for a new one today (Verizon). They wouldn't do it by mail, only through a corporate store of which I have two fairly close by. One store got 10 and the other only 9 so I feel lucky to have gotten it done. My new one is blue just like my first one but the bezel is gold. I can't remember if the bezel on my first one was gold.

My question is: Will the airlines let us use these new, replacement 7s on their airplanes? How will they be able to distinguish whether our phone has the new battery? Maybe if Samsung, or all carriers, remotely shuts all of the old ones down on September 30th that will end it.

After speaking with a few different reps, I called my local store and spoke to a guy I've come to know well since I moved over to T-Mobile. He explained it more thoroughly without rushing. Basically, I was given a full credit for the Note 7, in anticipation of my being charged for the full price of the phone when my bill cycle refreshes. So, after speaking with him, I decided to hold off on getting a replacement right now. I still intend on getting a Note 7, but am gonna wait it out until price drops during the holidays.
But the next bill cycle will hit before the holidays. Are they going to allow you to defer that long?

Here's my story...I called T Mobile store first to see if they had the blue I wanted. He said yep..I went down there. The first counter was surrounded with like 6 and 7 people in front and behind the counter. Odd. The other side was a guy saying "Welcome to T Mobile" when I walked in and asked what I needed. I said I needed to get my Note 7 back and give back this S7 Edge. He took it, the receipt, asked for the DL and debit card, and like less than 10 minutes, told me the price difference and if I wanted him activate it right there. I said nope. Left out. The whole ordeal was less than 10 minutes and that's a different story compared to when I brought the Note 7 in 10 day ago for that S7 Edge. Took a hour and a half. lol.

Back in action with the greatest Samsung Phone in history.

My next bill cycle should refresh on 10/1. I got an explanation from my in store rep last night. He explained that the large credit on my account was in preparation for their charging the full price of the Note 7 to my account, since it was a JOD upgrade. So, basically, when my next billing cycle comes through, that credit will pay for the Note 7 recalled device (including refund for the single payment I had made on it).

Regardless, I've definitely decided not to pick up my replacement phone. I'll just wait to see if Samsung releases a fully unlocked version (similar to the S7 or S7 Edge) that'll work on any of the providers. For that type of phone, that'll work regardless of provider, it'd hold so much more value and I'd feel it'll be worth the full price (at that point). In the event they don't, I'll just keep waiting until the first price drop (even if it's a promotional deal).

So that's what that update is? I haven't hit the update button on it. Saw it not long after I powered on....lol
Yup, unfortunately they also screwed up app sorting though. Previously if you sorted alphabetically it would keep folders first. Now it treats folders the same as regular apps. Only way to replicate the old behavior is to manually reorder your apps. Very annoying.

just picked up my replacement. walk into Best Buy with only phone...walked out with new phone and all the accesories that came with it. so extra charger, headphones, OTG and microUSB-USB-C adaptor. plus Sprint will credit me $25 on my next bill. Glad i hung onto it, instead of returning it for something else. Samsung did me right.

forgot to mention, this was in Houston, Texas just North of the city. I really like the green battery icon, gives the top menu more flair.

Yup. I got my phone yesterday and first thing I did after setting up my Google account, was the OTA. Sure enough, battery is bright green now. Doesn't look all too bad, but may disturb some folks with OCD.

After that update, I did the Smart Switch, which took about 20 minutes, and then tweaked some of the things that didn't transfer over, such as my theme, KB, Sounds, font size, etc. Am 100% set up now, and so far everything seems dandy. Still too soon to notice any battery or performance issues, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the bestest darn phone in the whole wide world!

Got mine last night at Verizon store. Added Google account, Smart Switch (which worked great), minor tweaking and 1 hour later back in business. I do notice I have the display set a bit higher (almost maxed) to get the same brightness (rep noticed too). See how it goes in a day or two. Aside from that I'm satisfied, the recall/swap was flawless. Good Luck.

Little advice......do not try to replace an unsafe recalled device through Verizon if you have any past due Balance on your account....lol

Just left wonderful Verizon. I have a past due Balance which is setup for automatic Payment tomorrow.

I understand them not selling new devices, etc. With a past due Balance but this is a recall.

So Verizon is just fine with me using an unsafe device that may catch fire or explode for another day until I pay my past due Balance tomorrow, lol.

I understand it is MY past due Balance and it will be paid tomorrow, but I cannot believe they would send me packing with a recalled device that they sold me, lol. It's not even past due enough to disrupt phone service. Unbelievable.....at least the store wasn't very busy...didnt wait long....and I live fairly close, but wow.......

It may be my imagination but I feel like my new replacement Note 7 works better and looks better than my old one. It seems to run more smoothly. I like look of the blue phone with the Rose Gold bezel. The S-pen is blue (maybe it was blue on my old Note 7 too). The updated operating system or maybe just a few small upgrades are nice.

Anyway...very pleased.

I got mine on Wed the 21st at Verizon what a horrible experience. I had to wait almost 2 hours and they had 13 Note 7 in stock and I was number 10, when they finally waited on me I not sure if the girl who helped me was new or had no clue how to exchange it, it took her 30 minutes trying to exchange my phone. There was another guy at the counter trying to replace his two phones and his boxes where on the counter and when she could not get it to switch she went down to the lady who was trying to help the guy with the two phone swap out. I watched as she place my Note 7 box next to his and when she would use her handheld scanner to try to get my phone registered she would scan one of his boxes instead of mine I walked down to her and said you know you are scanning his box not mine, she looked at me like what are you talking about the guy also said the same thing why are you scanning my box instead of his, she looked at me and said it would not matter. I said I think it would if his phone shows up on my account and I am paying for it. She came back to where I was and did bring my box she went to the back and came back with three things, a Fit Bit 2, a Wireless Charging Dock and a Wireless external Charger, she said Samsung is giving me $25.00 for my inconvenience so I had to choose one of the three and pay the difference, I said I thought I could just apply the money to my account if I wanted to, she said no. So I bought the over priced wireless charging dock which retailed for $75.00 so the dock still cost me another $50.00. Then she asked if I had my box that the phone came in and the accessories I said no since I called Verizon and they told me just to bring the phone in that is all I needed to return it. She told me she could not give me the box or any of the accessories, I said I want the box since I bought the phone and want it all, she started to argue with me, I said I like to talk to the manager, she walked over to some other lady and talked and came back and took all the stuff out of the box and slammed the box down in front of me and said you can have it. I took the box my wireless charger and said I will set my phone up at home since this was now over 3 hours of my time and costed me to much time and money already for the day. Once I got home I set the phone up and took another 3 hours to have it setup the way I had my other one. What a screw up Samsung!!!! My time is money also and you cost me a lot of time and money because of your lousy quality inspections. Once I was setup I then went to update the phone and this is what came up before the update installed indicating the battery would change colors.
