Text / MMS Messages not downloading/ showing up.

Try turning airplane mode on and off again instead of a full reboot, that usually works.

Also, are you all using the stock messaging app? Try another to see if you get better results; Chomp, Textra (same dev) and Hangouts are ones I've had pretty much no issues with (Chomp is my current favorite).

No issues for me, so I doubt it's the phone. I can confirm that Tmo texting sometimes freaks out. I've had MetroPCS for about a year and a half and on about 4 occasions texting got really messed up. One time I started receiving multiple texts (5-6 copies) of everything sent to me. Another time I was receiving texts really late. But, most of the time everything is fine.

Again, it seems that everyone thinks that each problem is the ZMAX. That's not the case. I have had ZERO issues with mine and I send/receive texts every day. Unless there is a specific issue with the ZMAX regarding how it performs under specific network conditions that we don't know about.... I'd say your problem is an app issue or a network issue.

We are having the same problem with our phones, ZTE Zmax Pro, not receiving text messages. I initially thought it might be a conflict with an app or maybe my local service here in Florida but it seems the problem is more widespread. Only solution is to reboot our phones. However, because I do not receive the missed text messages once I reboot I don't know if the problem is fixed or if it is still blocking the texts. I'm tired of people asking "Didn't you get my text". This problem began when I purchased the phone 2 months ago.

Same network data issue here. replaced sim factory reset and replaced phone under warranty and still the same problem. Airplane mode on then back off resets network much faster than restarting phone.

Zte says that the sofware update/fix is supposedly done and has been handed off to the carrier. This may be in the form of android N. Metro needs to modify the software before distribution.
Who knows how long it will take.

By the way.... My understanding of the data/text problem is that throughout the day your connection to mobile data will have trouble resetting. I notice this every day at work,. And it seems to happen moreso when wifi discovery is on. Everytime i leave work for break, i have to reset via airplane on/off. half the time as soon as i reset.... texts will pour in. Wifi works inside,. And when i go outside 4g is not working even though the data icon is still in notification bar.

Whenever im around wifi networks... I have to reset frequently... But today i was out chasing pokemon in the park for 7 hours without a single prob.

Again... Anyone have text issue... frequently Turn wifi off and do a google search or visit a web site. If "no connection" is indicated... That will tell you your mobile data is hung up. Turn airplane mode on then back off and try the web again. Viola!

Then cross your fingers,. Throw some salt over your right shoulder,. Spin three times while quoting " i like pancakes",. Wipe front to back,. And check for "system update" under "about phone" menu in settings daily! Supposed update is supposed to fix screen glitch and missing contact issues among other things as well.

The End

Return it for another one. I had two that had all sorts of bugs. I swapped them out at Metro on Monday, and these ones are like totally different phones. Screen glitches and connection issues are gone. The internal speakers are louder as well. I thought they were weak from the get go, but just attributed it to it being a cheap phone.

Metro didn't give me any resistance in swapping them out, and one was bricked. They took a quick look at the cosmetics, and gave me the new ones.

Thanks for the info.
I may try a swap again. Can you tell me the manufacture date on your new devices? My first one was 08/2016 and my second is 09/2016. Both with same issues.

Are you saying you went to metroPCS where you bought it and they swap your phone with no problems? One was even bricked? Sound too good to be true. What exactly did you tell them? And how long you got your phone before you returned it?

I have read a lot about how people return their phone and metro just shrugged at them which as ALWAYS the case.

Yeah. That's how it worked. The guy at the store was only concerned that the screen wasn't broken.

The one that was bricked wasn't when I initially took them in to swap them out. i had to wait for new ones to come in. I think I took them in last Tuesday, or Wednesday, and the new ones came in on Monday.

I bricked the one trying to run DirtyCow on it in the meantime. The screens were both twitching, and jerky when I took them in. It was obvious there was something wrong with them. He didn't even try to turn them on when I went in to pick up the new ones.

He had me pull the sim cards out, and swap them myself. He even asked which ones were the old ones afterwards even though the 2 new ones still had the stickers on the screens.

I really don't think they care at all. It isn't a franchise store though. I would guess they would be tougher to deal with.

So you didn't return it to metroPCS? You bought it on a different store? Can you tell which? You got lucky on the brick one. LOL. Wow. IF your case is not from MetroPCS, then I guess I can't do what you did. MY bugs isn't that bad as the others. Just the perennial screen bug. Are you sure you don't have it anymore? HAve you tried playing any games with it? like for awhile not just for a minute? LOL.

Could you just try playing game for awhile just to test if it really fix the screen problem coz I find it hard to believe.

I got it at a MetroPCS store it's just not one of the franchise ones.

I have been playing skidstorm on it. It is working fine. I have noticed a little lag on the keyboard when typing occaisionally. It isn't flat out ignoring touches, or inventing them like it was.

It's still not perfect, but it's much better. I didn't have any problem with bricking the other one because I hated it. I was about to throw it out of the window anyway.

I haven't had any network issues with it at all. The 2nd one I haven't used much, but it seems fine too.
