Ok so I realise that this thread could generate a few opinions but I'm throwing it out anyway

I'm thinking about getting a new phone, I currently have a Galaxy S5 but it's getting a little worn out. I don't need a high end phone as I don't really game (bit of Boom Beach is about it) and only occasionally watch HD video content. I'd like:

1. Reasonable storage 16-32 Gb really......SD card if possible.

2. The best battery life I can get

3. and most of all a phone that's easy to root and well supported by Cyanogenmod so once the manufacturer ditches it I'm not left unpatched

4. Anything else I "should" consider?

Ideas please

I'm a big fan of Sony phones. My Z3 Compact is still kicking strong after 2 years of serious usage. Great thing is the battery still lasts 2.5-3 days of moderate usage.

If you are looking for something a little more afordable the Moto G3 has a pretty solid following with CyanogenMod support on XDA (G4 should be out soon) and good specs.

My wife just got a G3, I'm pretty impressed with it actually. The only thing I don't like is the lack of a notification LED. Might take a peep at the G4 as well. Cheers

What's your budget?

I bought a G3 as a backup phone (refurb)...got it for $99 and it works great.

G4's are dropping in price as well for used ones but you have to consider the bootloop issue. Others may be able to give more details on that issue.
