I have my fingerprint set to enter my phone, but I've noticed that every now and then I'm asked to enter my pin number, is this normal?

Silly me... I'm used to swiping my finger on my laptop's biometric reader - and was trying to swipe the Note 7's home button! Found out (a lot later than I should have) that you don't swipe it... you PLACE your finger on it. Oh well, live & learn...
