Accessories Returning Note 7 3rd Party Accessories

It looks like if you bought accessories from a carrier store you can return them with your phone, but if you bought accessories separately somewhere else it will depend on the sellers policy. But that's a guess.

Maybe call their recall number to see if Samsung would give you credit.

Wrong answer indeed. Samsung should be bending over backwards for any customer caught up in this steaming pile. That is best way to retain any customer loyalty they might have left. Samsung should realize they have a massive uphill battle on their hands and that Apple, Lenovo, Google, LG etc will all be trying to take Samsung's customers away.

According to our own Phandroid, Amazon is apparently refunding Note 7 accessories purchased there:

http://phandroid.com/2016/10/12/amazon-refund-galaxy-note-7-accessory/

I have emailed Amazon's customer service desk requesting refund of five accessories with five separate order numbers. I will report back in this thread with the results.

EDIT: Within minutes I had five separate return authorizations! Thank you, Amazon!

Chief, I owe you! First for the 256 gig memory card that is being shipped for my second Note 7 promo (I did not think I qualified!) And now for my original case return that I received on 8/15! I thought that was a lost cause! Thank you!!!

Ok. All I do is go to Amazon and click on my orders and say return? Am I missing something?

I went back through all my orders and made a note of all the order numbers of the Note 7 accessories I've purchased. Then I contacted customer service via email, listing the order numbers and items. To do this, go to the bottom of the Amazon page and select HELP. Then select "Need More Help?" and CONTACT US. Select one of the items and choose EMAIL US. Then in the message, list all the accessories and order numbers.

:)

I've reached out to all places that I've purchased accessories, just to see what they say. Amazon was no problem, for the items that were sold and shipped directly through Amazon, but the 3rd party sold and shipped items are a different story. I'm waiting on responses from other places that I've purchased, but for the most part, I'm chalking everything up to having a few losses in that department. Some of the accessories I purchased, like USB C adapters and one cable, I can use them for other devices I own, so my loss on accessories specific to the Note7 isn't going to be that big and almost too much headache, if the 3rd parties aren't accommodating. I wouldn't blame them either, as it's not their fault Samsung messed up, just sucks for us consumers that weren't intending on having to return our phones.

I will be keeping my wireless chargers as I am sure they will be used at a later date. Also, I had a custom case made and I will keep that as it is my own design even though the case is now useless. I took GeeknTraining's advice and called Amazon as some of what I bought there was from third parties and they will reach out to those folks on my behalf. As for the rest, I now have shipping labels and can send them back for a full refund. Thanks guys for mentioning the third party accessories!

My experience:

Note 7's purchased at Sam's Club for my wife and I.
Pelican cases bought at AT&T Corporate store. (Didn't like the feel, but never got around to selling them privately.)
TGSP's bought at VZW Corporate store.
Otterbox case for me purchased at VZW Corporate store.
Otterbox case for my wife purchased at BestBuy Mobile.

The Returns:

Sam's Club, AT&T, VZW Corporate and BestBuy Mobile didn't bat an eye on the returns. (I had receipts and original boxes/packaging in all cases.) I got all of my money back.

YMMV.

While here, I'd like to thank everyone who shared their knowledge and experiences in the different topics on the Note 7. See you on the S7 Edge forum.

Good news for me! A Samsung rep called me back to make sure that my Note 7 accessories, specifically the Gear 360, got the return authorization I had requested. While I had her on the phone, I asked about the promotional Gear VR I was sent for buying the 2nd Note 7. Did Samsung want it back?

She said no, it's mine to keep and do with as I will. Yayyy! I'll be selling this puppy in short order!

I did get my refund for the Gear VR I had purchased in August. The Gear 360 is with FedEx, heading home. I expect that refund to hit by the end of the month.

I mentioned earlier that I would take the loss on my custom case but I had already contacted Skinit as it was slightly crooked, barely noticeable but not my perfect design. They had offered to remake and in light of the recall refunded my purchase anyway. I get to keep my design so now I have an empty but very pretty case. That was very nice of them and I will remember and buy from them for my next phone case.

Yup. Skinit was awesome. Didn't even hesitate to refund me for the custom skin I made on the Note7! I really wasn't expecting that, but I've purchased from them so many times in the past and any time I've had to contact the customer support, they've been amazing.
