Root [H631/MS631] CyanogenMod 12.1 for LG G Stylo

Thanks! But this still has problems...
On Metro PCS, once I set up the phone I had problems using data, so I had to fiddle with the APN settings in order for it to connect.
Video recording is completely broken.
Random reboots occur once or twice an hour and I think they even occur when my phone is asleep in my pocket...
I believe I flashed Katana partitions too. When installing this ROM, I dirty flashed Katana over Stock 5.1.1 with TWRP, so it kept my settings and data, and then when you uploaded that, since it refused to dirty install, I had to wipe and clean install in order for TWRP to accept it which was no problem. If I'm doing something wrong, please let me know.

The battery drains pretty fast too. When I was stock, I would play a little bit of Clash and listen to Pandora before heading off to school for about 30 minutes, and it would usually only drain like 5-10% battery. Since I flashed the ROM, it would drain 20%+ in the 30 minutes, and when I would go in the battery settings, it predicted that I have 2 hours left of battery with a 80% full charge.

The boot up time is extremely slow too, but I don't think that is too much of a problem. It's just the random reboots cause me to stare at the Cyanogenmod boot up while it reboots.

GPS works, but I find it to be unreliable as I was at school, and Google Maps thought I was still at home but it corrected itself after a couple minutes.

Also, is there a tutorial on how to compile your own version of Cyanogenmod? I'm studying Android/Java development in school, and I'd like to play around with your source a little to see if I can break or fix things myself.

I'm kind of mad that the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime got more popular than this phone... I traded it in because if you edited one file, it would cause an error and you'd have to flash the T-Mobile firmware on it since MetroPCS didn't have it. Fast forward 6 months to now and now it supports Cyanogemod 14.0 and has a fully functional and stable 12.1... I think we should counteract them and push this phone to it's full potential!

You tried to dirty flash. From a stock LL rom. To CM13. Just let that sink in.
No, I ended up wiping the phone due to that error. It's not my first time flashing ROMs, I just didn't feel like losing all my data so I wanted to see if it would flash over Katana since Katana allowed me to dirty flash over the stock LL rom.
So, I have a functional CM 12.1 Stylo now, but the issues I listed above are still occurring.
I even flashed the Metro PCS partitions from XDA but that didn't solve anything...

Video recording should be working just fine. Did you download the one from Google Drive? That one should be the latest. What is the build date on it? (Settings, About should tell you I think)

Unfortunately I had a bad flash trying to KDZ as I'm trying to get CM13 working with someone else but that got stuck and now my phone is in Qualcomm QDLoader 9008 mode. Ugh. So I have no phone to really test development on.

Sorry for the late reply, but the random reboots were horrendous. I ended up flashing back, and yes, it was the one from Google Drive, and the build date is June 6. I made a Nandroid backup from TWRP to restore it at anytime if I ever decide to go back to it, but I think I'll just wipe and flash it again if I'm brave enough. Plus, I think the random reboots were caused from one of the cores shutting down, even though thermal control was disabled.

Can you name any recent devices that cm worked 100%. To me its always been a pipe dream that interupted real device development.

Agreed 99.999% there. Official builds worked pretty good, but most of what was out there for unofficial builds were completely butchered. I just knew who to follow :)

But still.... Kinda sad to see the plug pulled on it.

I never deleted any of the CMs I've downloaded over the years lol, going back to CM7. Def gonna keep em now
