Recently, my phone started speaking each letter as I type. Very annoying.
I've looked through the keyboard and accessibility settings and haven't found anywhere to turn that off.
My only workaround is to plug something into the headphone jack.
Phone is LG-P769, Android 4.1.2
I have an LG Optimus F3 phone that I'm setting up for my child. I installed both the "
Norton Family" and "
Norton App Lock" apps on the phone. Both of these apps require you to turn on
Accessibility for them to work properly. But after turning on Accessibility for either or both of those Norton apps, even though the
TalkBack app had Accessibility turned off, the phone would speak the letters/buttons on the phone's keyboard when I pressed them.
The only way I was able to figure out how to fix this problem was to completely Disable the TalkBack app:
1) Go to Settings > Apps.
2) Swipe the top bar to move from Downloaded to Running and then to
All.
3) Scroll down to the
TalkBack app.
4) Tap the TalkBack App.
5) Tap the
Uninstall Updates button and following the prompts.
6) When the updates have finished uninstalling, tap the TalkBack app again.
7) Tap the
Disable button and follow the prompts.
After the BackTalk app was completely disabled, even though both Norton apps still had Accessibility enabled, the phone stopped speaking the keyboard letters/buttons when pressed.
