Help Where is the Verizon Voice Mail icon on the Pixel XL

I'm all for convenience and I applaud you for wanting what you want, but I hardly find going into the Phone app and tapping on the VVM tab a burden... Then again, I want a soft key to perform the function of the power button... Google Voice is a great option. Been using it for years and I can't see myself using another VM client.

the no notification thing is bad for me!!! Mine is a work phone(once I get because I ordered the 128-G XL)

I get 30 to 50 voicemail's a day. I kind of needed that notification bubble. But guess i'll have to adapt.

Same with e-mail though. The Pixel doesn't have notifications for that either!!! And those I get 300 of a day

They all tell me GV is better but too confusing to me. I don't want to forward numbers or stuff like that to use

What is GV? A separate app? Do you have a voicemail standalone client? Does it give notifications? Or is it just like the pixel dialer/voicemail setup? if so, then it's not as good for us. Again it's the notifications I need the most. Business phone here. If it was just a play phone and I didn't have a job I would care less. But to be able to buy these phones need it to do my work functions priority number one.

But explain GV a little more to me if you don't mind? With all my needs, in the back of your mind. Would it be a good choice for me or not really?

With respect to email, that's an app thing. You should be able to set notification preferences. I use Gmail. If you don't want to see your email thru Gmail then I'm of no help to you.

Google Voice is a standalone service. You set up your missed calls to forward to your Google Voice phone and it handles the voicemail (this is the same as the missed call being forwarded to your Verizon mailbox). I won't go into detail about additional GV features (like call screening, ringing multiple phones, etc.) Because those don't have anything to do with voicemail. You can set up various greetings by contact (if you want) or you can just have one greeting.

When a VM is left, the app notifies you or you can have it text/email you a transcript. As a Google product, it's searchable.

Setting it up on Verizon is a bit tricky but nothing complicated and once done you don't have to worry.

There are a ton other Phone number related features as GV gives you your own number. It's really not complicated, it's just new.

Give it a try and if you hate it, uninstall. You might be surprised.

This is pretty funny. I looked everywhere for a voice mail icon, widget, blah, blah, blah.....
finally long pressed the ole number 1, went through a few minutes of the old fashioned way and thought,"Hell no!!!"

Lol, I installed GV, configured it for Verizon and ahhhh, voice mail how it should be....great!!!

THEN I read this thread and found my icon...lol...I can't believe I never seen it there....

Now to choose between GV and VVM...
