Root ZTE ZMAX Pro (Z981) "off topic" root discussion

I'm patient as can be. I'm by know means a dev but some think that if a root hasn't been discovered this far into the release that it's not going to happen. I've been rooted or jailbroke since 2008 when the 2nd iPhone first came out. Than went to the Android world in 2014. It is killing me not being able to do what I want with the phone

MasterChief87 can you teach me how to root phones....step by step on what I have to exactly do or change....I wanna be able to learn so I can help other people who would like to root their phones....I'm a quick learner as well...so if it isn't to much to ask I would like your help to learn everything there is to know about rooting

That depends on how much money you have. I need a $100 donation first.

What you are asking is like ask a Doctor to teach you to be a Doctor. It takes years of study and it cost a lot more than $100.

I am sorry and won't talk anymore. I don't need this shit either. I don't care any more if we got root. I am not saying this device needs root in order to work properly. I am the one who needs a rooted phone and have my reasons. This is all my fault. This is the last time I am buying a ZTE device. And the next time I will make sure is a rootable phone before buying. I am sorry if got people insulted by my comments, it won't happen again. This is the last time I write on the thread. Good luck.

LOL. Speaking from experience, they are root 'addicts'. Or just starting on rooting or just desperate really to try anything on their phone. Those brave souls, good luck to them. Although, their phones are most likely brick by now if they even attempt to do anything with it.

I remember when I get addicted to this unlocking forums I just download anything I see. Then don't really do anything with it. Back then, security is not as tight as now on android phones. And that's why I am not rooting anymore.

I am here coz it entertains me. Is that a crime? I also learn something reading from these forums. For sure. Even if I am not trying anything on my phone anymore. It is always good to know something new and these android forums are the best to read and learn from.

It is not a crime, but it does'n make any sense. Do you work for ZTE? What are you hiding, you don't want us to get root?Don't tell me you are learning because no one here is going to believe you.

It's called idle curiosity, I have on occasion read over threads for devices I no longer even have, just cuz

I believe there's been a bit of a misunderstanding; the problem is not with people who are simply posting in/observing the thread, even if they don't have the device or don't intend to root it themselves. That's perfectly fine, and everybody should feel welcome to do so. Moreover, the issue is (in part) with those who are actively discouraging rooting the phone. It adds nothing to the thread and is a bit bewildering, to be honest.

At any rate, let's please just get back to the main topic.

Perhaps a Zmax Pro rant thread in the rooting forum would solve the topic derailment?

That may be called for. However, something tells me if somebody has the mindset to discourage rooting in a thread about rooting in the first place, they may not necessarily be the types to self-segregate themselves into the appropriate threads anyway. Nonetheless, it's worth a try.

Past that point, I think a lot of the problems have stemmed from the constant, often quite negative talk regarding donations towards Messi. I think donation talk can remain in this thread, but I think everybody just needs to tone things down a little bit and be a bit more patient.

I understand the curiosity part. But I don't see the point if someone is against rooting why coming here to waste everybody time with negative comments. I also hate when someone says this device don't need root. What's the point of that? We don't care if it need it or not, we just want it because we want freedom to do whatever we want to do with our devices.

Then maybe start a bounty thread for Messi or anybody else who would want to partake in rooting this thing. I will say its irritating having to comb through this thread to see what Messi or whoever needs. I'm not starting a rant thread or a bounty thread BC I don't really care what happens. I'll probably never root it or even own it by the time root happens (I'll leave the reasons why out to avoid inflammatory flags or replies) :D

I like to help out and donate, even if I don't have or use the device. Would be easier if I could watch progress in a separate thread, no?

I thought about that too, and I agree with you on all points, I think having a separate thread regarding donations and the like would be a pretty good idea. It would also probably bring more attention to donating as a whole, since, as you said, right now, you have to comb through a ton of pages/posts to find out about it and the progress thus far. However, I'll leave it up to Messi to decide whether or not he'd like to make a separate thread, or keep things confined here.

I know why you won't buy zmax pro. Too many bugs right? I don't blame you. I am stuck with this phone though coz it is the cheapest I can find with VR capability and big screen. And right now, those 3 things is all i want on a phone. For the most part, it does what I ALWAYS use for a phone, navigation while listening to music.

And to nino, I WISH I work for ZTE. Because there will be an update by NOW or long time ago, if I did.
