Help Can't interrupt notification sounds

Hello All,

Just got a new Galaxy S7 as a work phone. Having fun setting it up. I've added a few of my own ringtones and notification sounds, no problem there.

But, when one of them plays, I can't stop the sound by hitting the power or volume buttons. Is that normal? And can I change that? I've gone through all the sound and notification settings, but am not seeing anything appropriate.

I've had the same problem on mine. Even the S6 did it, now my S7 edge. I believe it depends on where you download them from, and some sites let you cut down the length, but I haven't found a way to stop the sound early. It must be normal. I'd love to hear a solution.

Thanks for the reply. I added these myself, they're just MP3 files. Hopefully someone knows how to accomplish this.

yep, pretty much normal...

once that tone starts to play, it will continue until it ends.
at least that is how they work for me...
