Streaming to a Projector

Hi all. I can stream from my Note 2 to the TV no problem with the use of a HDMI adapter but I can't do the same to the projector. I even bought a new projector so I've now got HDMI and USB ports thinking this was the issue but it's still the same. I've tried all different sorts of cables also but to no avail. Do I need this Chromecast thing or something similar? Or what do I need to do please?

What's the actual projector you've got there? What's happening when the phone does try to project? Errors? Black screen? I use a JMGO home theater DLP mini-projector, and that works with either MHL or WiFi.

Hiya. My old projector was an Optima and the new one is a great big thing called an Excelvan. 3200 lumens. When I connect, the projector is not even recognising that anything is connected. Just stays on a blue screen. Laptop and TV connect fine but not the phone. ??

It should work I think. An alternative might be to try it wireless with a Chromecast on the projector's HDMI.
