Hi
Maybe somebody could help. My Android MX tv box display on the TV screen is flashing to a black screen intermittently. It gets worse the higher the resolution in the settings menu. No chance of 1080p/i or 720p/i
It's 480 or lower to stop it from flashing but the picture quality is terrible.
Only seems to do it on my LG 3d TV, it works fine on my friend Samsung smart TV.
Any advise would be great.
Nick

Hi, I am having the EXACT same problem AND I have an LG TV (55UB850V).

I can set the display settings on the box to 1080i, but the screen flickers on 1080p and goes CRAZY on 4K.

It's a relief to hear that it's not just me with this problem, I'm guessing it's the firmware on the TV that is causing this?
I have tried an Amlogic S802 M8N box on my LG TV and a T8-AML-V2 Box, both with the same results.

The only thing that worked was to install the older stock firmware (k200 2014807) on my M8 box, and that let me choose any of the display settings, but XBMC was crashing a little.

I noticed a software update to fix issues with network connectivity both over WI-fi and Ethernet specific to the M8N model. I updated using this link: http://www.droidplayer.co.uk/blog/?cat=2

So far I haven't had any repeat of the issues but I haven't really tried it for that long. It would make sense to me since I wasn't getting a no signal error which i would have expected if it was an hdmi problem. Intermittent network issues would of course affect streaming. Anyway I'll report back once tested properly.

Word of warning using the link above changed the way my xbmc looked (i like it more) but its not the stock xbmc. Another link to new firmware can be found here but I haven't tried this one: http://chinagadgetsreviews.blogspot.ro/2014/12/download-latest-kitkat-442-stock_29.html

Anyway heres hoping the issue is fixed.

I have a MXq and was running it on my samsung with no issues. Today I moved it to my living room and tried to incorporate it into my bose lifestyle 135 system. I was getting a lot of flashing so I had to reduce it to the lowest res, shrink the screen size a bit in the android device and stretch the image in the Bose system. Not sure if the firmware is the issue with me since it work fine when not on the Bose system...

I had the same problem when I bought my LG 55UK6300 55-in. Smart 4K HDR TV. I gave away my MXQ pro and upgraded to a MXQ Pro Max. As soon as my new MXQ pro Max was delivered, I was so excited to hook it up to my new TV. I hooked it up and it loaded to the main menu and it started flickering every few seconds as if it was on a timer. I unhooked it, boxed it back up and sent the garbage back to Amazon two hours later. The same day I ordered anEASYTONE T95Q Android TV Box. Two days later my T95Q Android box arrives and I was excited to get it connected to my new TV. I got it connected it loads to the main menu and again the screen starts flickering every few seconds right on que just as the MXQ Pro Max did. Right away I unhooked it, boxed that garbage back up and brought it to the post office and shipped it right back to Amazon. All postage and return fees paid for by Amazon of course which is good because I can try out every Android box on the market until I find out which one works with my LG TV and in the meantime I have Free LG internet TV and Netflix of course so I'm not hurting. So the same day I ordered a TX5 Max Android TV Box Streaming Media Player and they shipped to me the very next day, I wasn't as excited this time because I was starting to think none of them were going to work. I connected it and waiting for the menu to load in dissapointment, it loads up and no flickering at all! This box is amazing, it comes with kodi Jarvis/Krypton/Leia already preinstalled into the box so you don't even have to go to the play store for kod I at all and to top it off it comes with Kodi add-ons pre-installed, the only add-on I had to install myself was Exodus! The box is ten times Quicker than the MXQ Pro and the picture quality is 100 times better!
My advice is to buy yourself a TX5 Max Android TV Box Streaming Media Player-

  • NEWEST & HIGH END ANDROID BOX 8.1: The latest all-round upgraded Android operating system would give you fresh feeling, such as smooth and high performance in enjoying games or apps, watching videos or live streams, etc.
  • DUAL QUAD-CORE: Higher data transfer rates than generic products and run your commands more efficiently.
  • BPSMedia TX5 Max Android TV Box of 32GB ROM & 4GB DDR4 RAM: Huge storage capacity that you can download whatever you like online or from the google play store and save them.
  • BPSMedia Streaming Media Player TV Show Box Support 3D game and 2K/4K Ultimate HD video hardware decoding and easy connection to network and do not worry about the inconvenience cables bring, high definition give you a chance to observe some details eyes cannot see
  • SMART BOX TV BUILT-IN 2.4 & 5GHz WiFi and LAN, HDMI port: Easy connection and simple operation. Use social network such as Facebook, twitter, Skype with your TV in a big screen which is very cool. You can go directly to let your TV and BPSMedia TX5 MAX are connected through a HDM! cable. Two 2.0/3.0 USB port, lets you connect mouse and keyboard to help you operate more convenient.

Are you plugging your hdmi straight into the TV or are you using a splitter. It's probably not the cause but I'll throw it out there. I'm a couple of hdmi short so I've got to split some. A specific lead in the splitter didn't agree with my pc and I got exactly that. Plug that lead straight into my tv, a different one in the splitter or that lead in a different device and everything was fine. Maybe worth playing about a bit.
