Low storage

Hi all. Since my Moto upgraded to Marshmallow it is really low on storage. I really don't have many apps installed, how can 8gb be filled by the ROM and a few apps? (Most annoying) Other than rooting the phone is there any way to clear some space.

Did you wipe cache partition after the upgrade removing all temporary files and not touching permeate files, added apps, or settings?

Yes.

I am using a Turbo 2.

I Wipe Cache Partition after every minor system update and I also do it every Saturday as part of weekly maintenance.

I Factory Data Reset after every major system update. This is a very big deal.

Well I would try both if I could get into recovery mode. I've followed the instructions but when I select reboot to recovery and press the power button the phone just turns off and doesn't reboot. Odd

Hold off on the Factory Data Reset until it is least inconvenient to do it.

Getting into Recovery Mode is a little challenging. After you successfully do it once the following times are trivial.

It should not be connected to anything.

I do not know what the video is about that you posted.

Wipe Cache Partition is an option that is built into Recovery.

If all else fails ... take it back to where you bought it and have them show you how to Wipe Cache Partition.

It is critical for all Android device owners to know how to do a Wipe Cache Portion and Factory Data Reset and to know when to use them.

Sorry do you mean the "No command" error is covered in the Moto link?

That's the issue, I'm selecting the right option but the android appears but it never enters recovery mode.

I don't have your phone.

You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
Holding the Power button, tap Volume Up once and then release the Power button.
A menu should appear.

If not successful ...

You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
Holding the Volume Up button, tap Power once and then release the Volume Up button.
A menu should appear.

Should not be necessary. The documentation on the Motorola Users Forum for the Moto G Second Generation states that the procedure for Marshmallow on your phone is identical to the procedure for Lollipop on your phone.
