Root ZTE ZMAX Pro (Z981) root discussion

The only problem I see with trying to use the past ZTE ZMAX exploit that envolves making the phone run out of memory when using Kingroot, is that I need a way to stop the ram managment so that it doesnt' keep killing apps to free ram. I need the ram to run out. Does anyone know how to stop the ram managment on this phone? In the ZTE ZMAX there was an actual task manager that you would kill first before trying the root attempt, but each attempt that failed you would have to go back and clear the cache and data of king root until you finally got the root.

Im not saying it would work even if i did stop the ram managment, Im just tinkering around looking for bugs right now. Im sure that the devs have already surely tried this but hell why not lol. Im going to keep trying to find bugs until I get a diamond in the rough or we get an exploit.

Have you guys thought about the internal storage? Meaning that having our SD cards set as internal is hindering root. I mean, we couldn't take the update due to this fact so why should we be able to take root..

My thoughts are thats a great point I just got this second phone im using and I dont have an sd card and me and one other person got to 100% on kingroot but with root auth error, but yet still i was able to change the adb prompt setting in it to allow although it didnt give me root. Maybe just a bug with Kingroot maybe not i dunno. But I dont have an SD card in coincidentally.

I really think there could be something here. I mean thinking about your point about the update which I hadn't even known about and the fact that they added a sd card update option with the update and the fact that this is android forums how often is it one of us doesnt have an sd card in?? Very rare. the only reason i dont is because I just got this second zmax pro and havnt went out for another card yet, and strangely me and one other member got this weird bug, we need to ask him as well if he has an sd card in.

What version of kingroot is everyone running? Where did you DL it? When did you DL it? Those questions might play a role in your current tests.
KingRoot ver 4.9.6

I just got kingroot to get to 100% and say root successful. I used the 5.0 app from xda which is the latest. But when i try root checker it says it's not root.
OK, listen up. Really. Not all root checkers will consider KR a real Root because the RootCheckers look for a specific ".su" file.. Now sometimes KR uses a ".ku" file that does the exact same thing.
When it says you have Root, use a PC terminal shell or a terminal.apk on same device and type the terminal cmd to disable Write protection. It'll reboot, and you'll need to run KR again.. Go from there [emoji41]

Well i used a terminal emulator. I tried the wire protection thing and it said permission denied. Kingroot didn't even install kinguser either. I opened kingroot again and it said i wasn't rooted but completed the rooting process again but I'm still not rooted. If it helps I'm on the latest metro version. B12 i think it is

I sent Kingxteam a shout in XDA pointing to this thread, hopefully they respond
I was using the version 5 that was released 11/23 downloaded from xda. I think it has a bug in it. It did not have root.

It is telling me the phone is not adaptable now, so we have to wait until they have new solutions to try it again.
