Are you kidding me. I only bought this phone because of the LG video showing they added the third option to have a normal app drawer. Get me phone yesterday and it's not there. Must of been verizon telling them to leave it out. Now i have to send this thing back!!! unless someone knows a hack to get that home option on the phone?

Thats no good Kolio. That disables the phone. You can't add widgets with Easy Home. You can't add or change around more homes screens. You can get rid of the "Call" screen in that mode. Easy home is for old people or people coming from a flip phone for the first time. I want it like my G4 only in my new G5. Every other phone has the option except stupid verizon.

Similar problem. Can't use the LG widgets and apps with another launcher.

I know all that can be done and all my options. I'm just letting people know that if you buy the Verizon version of the G5 you won't have the third option in Home Settings to make it a normal app drawer setup. (which is what i want and will be using when i go back to my G4). It's typical Verizon to be the ONLY company that didn't allow this setting

Yeah, finding that out. I'm also on Verizon and I probably misread the earlier reports about it, but cannot find the app drawer. So, running Next Launcher to bypass that.
I was running Next Launcher on my G3, so I'm liking it and used to it.
I am NOT a fan of the no app drawer, I-phone-like set up as far as all apps on the home screens...blech!

Did I read somewhere that Android N will have that as a new "feature"? I thought I did but could be way off. I hope I'm way off 'cause that will just plain suck.
I'm not sure @Clementine_3 , but either way, running a different launcher solves it for me anyway.
I know that doesn't help the original OP's issue but not sure if it's just a Verizon thing or if other carriers have the same no-app-drawer issue.

I just got home w/my T-Mobile LG G5 & for once,it looks like the angst towards VZW is misplaced:
The stock choices for the launcher are identical on the T-Mobile variant.
The only explanation I can come up with as to what you saw previously might have been a pre-production version of LG's UX.
As soon as I get my phone off the charger,I'll post some screenshots....................

Solved!!!!!!!! We got it!!!! You have to download "LG Smart world" from the LG site(from phone browser).
then in the new app search for "LG Home 4.0" Download and Install and you now have the setting for the REAL app drawer and home. NOW the phone is how it should be. It is awesome now
Nice find,very much appreciated. :thumbsupdroid:
I'm gonna sticky this,I'm sure quite a few people would be interested in a fully functional stock UI...................

Thanks for the thanks Kolio. This was hell. Wasted 3 days of my life investigating this. Hours on the phone with LG & Verizon and neither could help. The funniest part is LG had no idea what i was even talking about.

I'm mostly surprised that there weren't that many people concerned about this though. I was sending the phone back. It was unusable the way it came. Launchers while being good choice sometime were not an option for me. I hate how you can't use their widgets and apps when on a different launcher. And some of the LG widgets are the reason i even use their phones.

I totally get it,especially for the widget users.
Take that away & you're beginning to look a lot like, well, you know.......... ;)

Thanks for this! I was just using nova launcher but now I've switched to LGs Home 4... I really like knock off and knock on. You have to pay for that in nova...

That and a ton of other stuff. Everyone is quick to say use "another launcher" but you lose all the good stuff that LG offers(the reason i buy their phones). Their Calendar widget is the best. Only one you can get a true Month view in(which i need and use for work). the knock on-off like you said. Nova's doesn't work as well as LG's (and you can't do as much with it as you can with the LG's). There screen swipe effect are second to none. Every time I unlock and people see the circle show the screen underneath they are amazed!!! Plus quickmemo and Capture+ is awesome. You can have an important note be right in your face till your done with it. Plus many more i'm forgetting about. I can make my LG look almost 100% stock android with the benefits of using their awesome features. And still one of the ONLY phones that use the android soft keys. With this "App&Home" setting the phone is AWESOME !!!!!!

I believe they did an update and put the "home" option on all G5's. I know they did on my Verizon G5

but you still should be able to find the downloadable one on Smart World. I think i had trouble finding on there also at first. Not the greatest site or app or whatever it is called. but it should be there (or the option should be on your phone already)
