Making sure all the crap disappears when app is uninstalled

I used to have an app that monitored uninstalls and asked if I wanted the crap removed also.

i don't remember what it was, or if it had security issues like the Chinese sponsored stuff.

right now, I want to remove the DTV app which I tried out and discovered it is almost useless.
yes, it will let me stream a movie from my DVR which is what my daughter told me to do...
but, how do you get rid of a recording that you stupidly allowed to be downloaded onto the phone?

it takes 96 minutes to "prepare" to download a video.
then it takes at least that long to download it....
mind you, all this for a one hour long program??

might as well just use it in streaming mode and put up with the glitchy video jumps.
I thought I would just remove the app and then take a new look at whether I want it at all??

but, there are two videos that have been downloaded.... the app makes no mention of removing those when it is uninstalled.

the thing that made me delete it instantly this morning was, I went to sleep at 12 midnight with a 100% full battery.
The phone woke me up at 3 AM honking that it was powering down because the battery was flat!!!
huh? no way will I put up with that kind of power hungry app.
any thoughts out there/

I run ...
SD Maid – System Cleaning Tool – remove junk from SD cards – free version
SD Maid Pro - Unlocker – unlock paid
... and it must be invoked manually.

I have the free version of that installed now, I looked at it today and found a whale of a lot of stuff.
what I don't have is "instructions" on what it finds as to how it relates to being a "backup" or if it is just fluff put up there by other things.

I was looking specially for the title of the movie, it might be encoded or something, but it ought to at least be under a DTV folder name??

I am afraid to turn that one loose until I study it more.

I'm curious as to where the DTV app is storing the movies? extSDcard or internal phone memory.
it shows me how much is 'free' yet to use, and that number don't correlate to how much I think is available on the SD card.... but, I have made several image backups of the phone recently and that will put a big byte on storage.

It will not delete anything without instructions from you.

Select Quick Access this will list four groups and the bottom of the screen will be a green "Scan"
Click "Scan" and it
will report four groups and the bottom of the screen will be a red "Run Now"
Click any of the areas that has a trashcan icon with an X (Do NOT click on the trashcan.)
A list will appear with an entry like Gallery Thumbnails 31 items
Click the "i " icon on the right and it will list the entries in that item
You can click them one at a time and tell it to delete it.

You can run a scan and choose to delete item-by-item, delete a group, delete one of the four areas, delete all four areas, delete nothing.

(The original app you referenced was probably Clean Master that is fortunately off your device now and when it was there it was lying to you.)

Settings/Apps/<AppName> (or however Samsung currently name it), and clear cache and data. You can then uninstall the app.

hmmm, guess I will let it reinstall later today when I am home on the WiFi,
then clear out its' data and cache folders.

been too involved at the hospital with my wife to get too deep into anything.
thanks for that logical suggestion. I even thought of it as an "ah shit" moment when I uninstalled it. just did not take the time to reinstall/uninstall.
