Help LG Volt (LS740V6): No voicemail notification icon on Sprint network

My rooted Boost Mobile LG Volt (LS740) Android 4.42 ROM version LS740V6 does not show a voicemail notification icon whenever I receive a voicemail. I can retrieve the voicemail just fine, just no notification.

Phone is now on Sprint network instead of Boost Mobile. If I flash custom ROMs such as Bliss, CM12 or CM13 then I get the notification just fine...but those ROMs have their own issues so I prefer stock ROM.

I think it may have something to do with stock ROM was designed for Boost Mobile's voicemail system instead of Sprint's so it's not intercepting the call. I tried flashing different versions of voicemail apps, installing 3rd party apps from Google Play Store, and removing native voicemail apps but none worked.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Were you able to figure this one out and get voicemail notifications working? I think Im on the same boat as you. I can dial into voicemail fine, but the app wont connect and download any voicemails or give me any notifications.
Flashing CM13 works and I get a txt message about a pending voicemail but l prefer stock as well

It's working now but I am not sure what did it though. Anyway, make sure the Voicemail app "Show Notifications" is checked on at phone Settings->Apps.

I also followed the instruction on the link below, but I am not sure if that's what fixed it (I think it started to work before I did this procedure):
