Thanks. Is it supposed to work though? It force closes.
Yes there's alot of versions on there.. but some are for root and atleast 1 should be no root but the one we need, we have to manually place the driver files in the data folder.. I saw one said driverless.. I'm figuring out the hard way which one will work for us.. I'm having a hard time figuring out the difference between them

They will work if our kernel was modded. Still need permissive...**edit** The kernel needs to be permissive to install viper4android properly.

B8. This build has many bugs. For example , play services crashes when you attempt to create a location-based reminder in Google keep.
I hear you. I scanned my zmax with quad root scanner app also. When I updated to B12 all those vulnerabilities disappeared. I truly hope I didn't screw myself out of root by upgrading to the 12

Do you get the screen glitches?, kind of like adaptive brightness? I had that play services issue. I cleared data/cache in setting and that stopped.

Lol yeah... Kyocera and ZTE have a common denominator with their firmware: run a script it doesn't like or go poking around where you shouldn't be and you're in brick city lol. Them two companies are not nearly as nice as LG with firmware, web updates and flash tools. With that said... If you guys do end up getting root access, be careful. ZTE left a surprise for the poor suckers who rooted the Obsidian. Big fat perma-brick if you flash a mod or touch a prop file lol... Who knows what the hell they coded into the zmax pro, I suspect mass casualties before the war is won.

You hit the nail on the head lol. I have an obsidian that I used supersume to replace kinguser with supersu and now gets stuck on white metro screen. I can still get to stock recovery. Tried factory reset and wipes. Didn't help. ZTE has no ROM available. Can't even get any device owners to pull OTA for us. Smh

So I looked at the screenshot and saw some others tried it and failed. Correct me if I'm wrong but those are not for our android. It says what version number to use for android 4 or 5 but we are neither on the zmax pro.
If we had permissive selinux to install it properly there's a good chance a 5.0 would work on some 6.0 devices. I'm a viper4android user since 2014. Until we get root @lambo352 posted link to a pretty good app call Equalizer Fx
