Root ZTE Zmax Pro Official Root Discussion

Why doesn't QPST work? Whenever I connect the phone in DFU mode and then try to use the tool, the RAM dump fails and the phone reboots. Am I missing something? I have OEM unlock enabled. Why are there no tools to flash this phone? Even ZTE stated that they have no official tool.
Can we make a list of all flashtool tried? No flashtool is why I shy away from ZTE usually. The price and specs attracted me to the pro plus I had the first zmax. How hard would it be to build a flashtool or mod an existing one? If ZTE claimed no tool then how do they repair them? Insurance repair etc

It does connect n we can flash through it. I found a guide to do it The problem is that we need firmware zip or img to be able to flash n update framework n firmware. We do have kernel but we can not Incorporated recoveey through it. We need to do it through firmware update. I tried by flashing the update zip, andvit worked but to be able to flash recovery we need to flash the entire firmawe for signing to go through with aboot bootloader and all. We don't know yet if bootloader is really unlock or unlocked. We cn only now by fastboot. Which we do have as standard of androidbuild but it decibel. (+_+) :-(

The ZTE Zmax Pro is vulnerable to CVE-2016-2059 and CVE-2016-2504.
CVE-2015-2504 can be used to hi-jack the GPU drivers inside of the phone. The website says that neither of these can lead to arbitrary code execution above userland but the very description of of CVE-2015-2504 says that it does. I do not know how to code for this device but I'm sure someone out there can.

I just rooted my Zte zmax pro...try running Kingroot now its been updated.
My KingRoot app has been running and stuck on 33℅ for 15 minutes lol even as I post this smh. Yesterday and today I did get a root exception error or something close to that. The KingRoot app did act very different it checked my imei, GUI, etc. False positives have happened before so idk

Did you see the CVE listings for 2017? Not sure if they affect our device though, unfortunately I know nothing much about cve's. On version 08 ROM quad root scanner detects 4 CVE but on version 12 ROM it doesnt

It would be wise not to root.rooted zte devices are known to have bricked especially zte obsidian and I'm sure this phone has bootup root check like that phone. So if the pri check detected root on bootup the phone would not boot and you would have bootloop or brick

Yap I won't use that one click root apps anymore especially kingo root/kingroot. That's exactly what happened to my alcatel. it brick my alcatel after I OTA update it. Damn that never again.
