Help LG Tribute (LS660p) won't boot after flashing CM12.1 & Gapps 5.1

Hello All,

As part of my ongoing Android education process I decided to start playing around with an LG Tribute (LS660P) that I have to see if I could flash a custom recovery and a custom ROM.

I rooted the phone a long time ago and had no problem at all getting TWRP flashed using the Flashify (for root users) app from the Google Play store. I followed the instructions in this YouTube tutorial and it went without a hitch.

Flush with my success, I watched the same gentleman's YouTube tutorial on installing CM12 on the same platforms. Everything also went without a hitch, or seemingly so, all the way up through flashing CM12.1 followed by Gapps 5.1, but when I attempt to reboot the system I now appear to be caught in a boot loop where the LG logo itself shows at full screen brightness, then gets a grayish overlay that dims it significantly, then that gets another half screen vertically over that which makes the left side of the screen even dimmer. This set of screens cycles endlessly unless I pull the battery. I cannot seem to boot back into TWRP, either, using the Volume Down-Power Down hold, release, and hold again method. I come back to the previously described loop. I did take a backup of my stock ROM before starting this, but would really like to try seeing if CM12.0 and Gapps 5.0 might work on my LGLS660 (LG Tribute).

Any advice or assistance would be appreciated.

Following up: I kept at this and eventually managed to boot into TWRP recovery. There are several different ways to force an LS660 into recovery, and I only found the correct one after trying several.

Was able to get CM12 and Gapps 5 installed and the phone boots like a champ again. Now my only problem is that the version of CM12 that I've got has a bug that makes the camera inoperable. But at least I'm back to the land of the living with this device again.
