D800 stuck on AT&T logo screen after restoring nandroid

I have an LG D800 that was running the 20y build. When I turn it on, the LG logo shows, then the led starts slowly flashing blue/green, the AT&T logo shows up, but it just stays there.
Previously, I rooted it with Stump and then used AutoRec to install TWRP 2.7.0.0. The phone was working fine after these steps. I used the TWRP recovery menus to do a full nandroid backup
I tried to install the latest nightly build for LineageOS (per their instructions, I wiped all and flashed zip files using TWRP). It seemed to go okay, but on rebooting, It just went to a black screen and stayed there. I rebooted into recovery, restored my nandroid backup and everything was back up and running. Tried this twice, with same results.
Then, I tried to flash the Cloudy 3..3 ROM. The install again seemed to go just fine, but on rebooting, I again got the black screen. Once again, I rebooted into recovery and restored my nandroid backup.
Now however, when I rebooted, it goes to the AT&T logo, the led keeps flashing, but it stays stuck here. I've tried to factory reset (using TWRP), but that doesn't seem to have any effect.
I'd really like to get my phone back to the state it was, but I don't want to mess anything up. Can someone help me do that? I'm note what I did wrong here (This is my first time trying a new ROM, but I was trying to be careful!). I've seen some posts on how to go back to a stock 20c build - is that my only option?

** Update: I was able to follow the instructions from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/general/links-manually-forcing-ota-20c-to-20u-t2828874 to restore my phone to stock. Then I used Autorec to install TWRP and restored my nandroid backup. I believe the issue was with the fact that AutoRec downgrades the bootloader. I guess I need to read up more before I try this again!

FYI...for anyone else trying to follow the instructions in that post, the link in there for the FOTA files for 20c -> 20y don't work. I finally was able to find a copy here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/fjslf9xo5q2ybqp/D80020cTo20yFOTA.zip
