MY
Hi,

My mobile phone carrier gave me a ZTE blade a 610. The phone feels great though it is only 16 gb space and has lower specs than my Samsung note 3 phone. The phone has a fm tuner which is rare for new phones. I am thinking of making the most of this phone. I wanted to make this my dedicated waze car mount, but waze needs a sim to work if I am not mistaken. I don't want to make a new account since all of my favourite destinations are in my current waze. Any other ideas? Maybe I should just sell it off?

Phones today are also great for gaming if you are into that and with 16gb you have lots of space to use it as a "console" as it were!
Thanks. My main phone is 32 GB, about 4 games-which I don't play at all. Playing it on the tablet. At 16 GB, the space is quite tight since with all my work related apps install, there is little left for gaming.

Use hangouts on it.so you can call with WiFi just in case.. Customize it for fun.. You can use it as a security cam.. Or like someone else said.. To game on.. I carry 3 phones.. (weird I know).. All have different games etc.. One is just used for my car stereo.. And gps

Kind of overkill. Though I now have 3 phones and a tablet, though one of the phones is a Galaxy S2. I find gaming on tablet as much more satisfying rather than on the phone.

I have 4 phones:
1) Cheap Chinese (HomTom HT17 4G) as main phone for calls and messaging, and a few apps (A Better Camera, bubble level, Kindle)
2) MotoG 2012 - for music streaming and other audio apps, also for trying custom ROMs.
3) InFocus 610 (6" screen for GPS navigation and Android Auto)
4) Microsoft Lumia 650 for testing Win10 universal apps

The easiest phone I had for playing with custom ROMs was the HTC Wildfire S, it's a pity that it was only ARM6.

I had to rest my nexus 7..too big to carry to work.. And getting a bit dated.. So in steps the Zmax pro.. The og stylo I had I love to death and customized to a tee.. But wife gifted me with the stylo 2 plus.. And at first I did see the use.. But it grew on me.. Then root came for it.. Now I love the damn thing lol

Is it locked to that carrier? You could just pick up a pay-as-you-go sim and sync it to your existing account. Then you won't loose your waze data.

No. The phone is unlocked. Waze requires the exact sim with the number to be in when activating it otherwise it will not activate it on a new device.

So far I've turned it into a bluetooth-streaming device for my car. Since I can now download lots of youtube videos offline, I use it to stream to the speakers. The huge battery means I charge it like once a week maybe more since it is only connected to wifi and nothing much. I can see myself using it a backup phone when goingon travels since there is a dual sim slot. Otherwise it is still underutilised.

What mounting do you use for the dash cam? Dangling from the mirror or on the dash? And what about the wires as well.
I use a windshield magnet mount, this one:

and I ran the wire/charger from my power port, up the A pillar of my car, across (tucked under) the headliner to just behind the rearview mirror to where the windshield mount is.

EZ on, EZ off :)

I see. I don't think it will work for my car since the light and wiper sensors are behind the rear view mirror and a huge area has been blackened out
Well, you can put it lower if needed.

My situation is similar as the top 6 inches of my windshield is blacked out with a self installed vinyl strip. My phone/mount sit below that under the rearview mirror.
It really doesn't affect my vision. I'll snap a picture later if you like.
Honestly, it's not a bad set up in my opinion :)
