New ATT unlimited plan.. GOOD or BAD?

I am currently on an ATT group plan...
we share 20GB of Data.. with rollover data
which is enough 90% of the time.

so.. has anyone found any bad points of this deal?
is this a good deal?

i did find out that the 22GB limit for 3G/4G speed is for EACH line.. not shared.
has anyone found out otherwise?

It's per line, my source is my fiance who works for AT&T.

Everyone is lining up to match Verizons unlimited plan announced last week.

De-prioritization after 20GB+ is pretty common on unlimited data plans right now. I believe most carriers and MVNOs have some sort of de-prioritization clause when on busy towers.

After 22GB in one month they reduce your speed when the tower is busy, so you can still get full speeds ever after 22GB.

Total assumption right here. It says unlimited 4G LTE data. We're on the verge of 5G data and I feel this could be a marketing thing. That way when 5G comes out you cannot access it but because of these unlimited plans it's driving more customers.

I believe all the carriers are doing it for this reason.

That's just negative me talking. Lol.

Saying 4G LTE is marketing, but I would guess once 5G is available they'll market 5G and you'll get 5g (with a 5G phone).

If you look at the terms/fine print they usually simply say "unlimited data."

we think alike..

but to tell you the truth... i am getting more than 10GB most of the time...
on my phone... do i really care of 5G will get me 100GB speed?

and as more people use 5G service... 4G will be less crowded
win win

But I didn't see anything in it about applying to groups.

If it works like the regular account sharing, then they charge you per line but discount the second, third, etc. and throw all data in a pool. I would expect that the 22GB limit would kick in after the aggregate use was 22GB and throttling would apply to everyone.

AT&T site says per line. Fine print on the bottom of the main AT&T Unlimited page:

"Data Restrictions: After 22GB of any data usage on a line in a bill cycle, AT&T may slow the data on that line during periods of network congestion for the remainder of that cycle. See att.com/broadbandinfo for details on AT&T network management policies."

yeah.. that reads like it is .. 22GB per LINE..

but the customer chat person.. says GROUP.

and the person that signed us up.. on the phone at ATT..
said it is .. per GROUP!

I guess the only way to confirm.. is to see at end of billing cycle.. and a few of us push past 22 GB and see.
