I've had my Pixel XL for over a week and still getting acquainted with it, coming from a Motorola Droid Turbo. I had to order the phone through Verizon as the stores in my area couldn't tell me when they would have it. The delivery date was going to be a month wait time, but it was shipped in 2 weeks. This gave me time to order extra cables and case. I got a screen protector from Verizon this past weekend. And I forget who told me on here to not get one from Verizon as it doesn't cover the screen from edge to edge. He was right, knew he would be but it's better than no protection at all.

How many of you that have the Pixel put it in a case and or a screen protector. I've had some people tell me you spent that much on a phone why are you covering it up! That's why I've got a case for it because of the cost. I got a caseology case, not bulky, adds a little color to the basic black that I got.

I have an Otterbox Commuter case and YooTech screen protector.

I have always used a case for 2 main reasons. First, I personally know people who refuse to use cases and their phones look like crap. They are scratched, dinged, dirty, dented, etc. Second, I find that cases provide additional grip to my devices.

I have always used screen protectors and for the last handful of years, have used tempered glass. I have seen people who dropped their phone with and without a screen protector and in almost all normal drop cases, those with a screen protector had the Tempered glass break and not their actual screen.

I believe I was the one who warned you against buying a screen protector from Verizon. Take that thing back, get your money refunded, and buy this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M69PTSV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . Mine fits perfectly, feels just as durable as the Zagg one from Verizon, and I haven;t had any issues with fingerprints or anything. Just keep in mind that you will not find one that properly fits the phone from edge to edge. You just want to make sure it fits the width of the usable, light up area of the screen and YooTech is the only one I know of at the moment that achieves this goal.

Yes Kratos I believe you were lol - thank you! Usually when I'm done with my phones they look like they came out of the box from always having a screen protector and case. And you're right the case also gives you something more to hang on to.

No screen protector but I'm using the Spigen Rugged Armor Case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M...1490569269&sr=1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65

I'm not a big fan of cases but this one adds minimal bulk and is easy to take off. I just find the pixel to be a bit slippery without a case. And I was also getting tired of babying it all the time.

I use the Spigen Tough Armor case on my Pixel XL, along with a Zagg screen protector. A few days ago, while I was removing the phone from my back pocket, it bumped against my leg, twisted and flipped out of my hand, went flying through the air and landed face down on our kitchen's porcelain tile floor. I thought sure the phone, or at least the screen, had met its doom. Not a scratch on it. I'm sure the raised lip on the case helped save the day for the screen as the screen protector wasn't even damaged.

I had a Spigen Tough Armor that I used while I waited two weeks for my holster to arrive. I'm a bit compulsive and I keep my phone in a holster that I clip to my pocket with the phone in my pocket. On rare occasions I carry it clipped to my pocket and when i got caught in an incredible storm three days ago I clipped it to my shirt pocket as my dog and I ran through the wind and rain and splashed through what had been a street. I like the holsters but I wish I could get a color other than black. When I sat it down at home it disappears.

I use a slip case/pouch, which for me is the best of both worlds. Started doing this with my first smartphone, a HTC Desire HD, back in about 2012 or 2011 because it was a really well designed phone and it seemed such a shame to cover up the beautiful aluminium finish with a crappy plastic shell. My Pixel XL is now my fourth smartphone, and so far I've yet to sustain any serious damage on any of them. My last phone was the first to sustain any damage to the screen, a very minor chip which actually came from doing something on the phone while it was on my desk. Never had any issues with micro-scratches or anything like that, although I do tend to get a little wear around the corners. Screen protector is always a good idea in case you drop it while using it.
