Google assistant for galaxy s7 edge - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

How is it downloaded and installed? Via the play store or automatic update? Thanks

OTA. After un/reinstalling the problem apps and rebooting a couple times everything has pretty much smoothed out.
And everybody else seems happy with N.
And that's what I thought was that Nougat was supposed to be a really good update so I didn't know what was going on.
So I'm happy with it.
Thank you very much S.

I got updated over night. I HATE IT! With a passion. No longer can you just long press the button and get the cards you're interested in. No longer can you type a query. No, now you need to TALK to your stupid phone. I could easily use Google Now anywhere. But can you imagine talking to your phone in the middle of a meeting? Or during a wedding? Or in any of the thousands of other places where talking out loud is annoying, embarrassing, or downright rude? Where you might want to be discrete? I added a gesture to Nova Launcher to start Google Now, but that only works from a home screen, unlike a long press of the home button.

And there's no option for going back to Google Now. There's a kludgy work-around, by changing your phone's language to Virgin Island English, but it is, at best, a temporary fix, because Google will eventually roll this out to all English languages, just as they did Now.

Thanks for forcing this unwanted bloatware on me, Google. Thanks for nothing, that is.

Do Google's employees really sit around work all day talking to their phones? Maybe they should go out into the real world and see how real people work and play.

babyruthless85Just keep holding down the home button
Thank you.
sleedeaneIf Google knew a much as you guys did you would be obsolete. I wouldn't have anymore friends to talk to.
Time to change your bandage. How are you doing Slee

Doing great thanx! Back in school at 55 yo.
No time to hang out in AF like I used to love to do.
You guys have taught me so much.
Need to make time soon though as now there's root for my S7 as I went for a year having an unrootable S6 (ATT & Verizon).
I really still have a lot to learn with tweaking and hacking. Too much to hang out in xda.
But you guys will get me there someday.
Not that I would ever leave this place.
