Recommendations on email app

I'd like to find another email app to have a 2nd email address on. Every free email app I've tried from the Google Play store is fairly large for just the app in comparison to the pre-loaded email apps on my android phone. As an example, Gmail app is only .98mb, whereas the most recent email app I downloaded, AquaMail, is almost 9mb without any data loaded.

I use Yahoo Mail app, but it has not been functioning for the last week. Hopefully it will return to functional status soon. The app itself is in the 5mb range without data loaded.

I also tried MyMail app, which I liked, but it was fairly large in app size too.

I use an older phone, Casio C771, with only 400mb of internal memory and I'm needing to reduce internal memory load. I have already moved as much to the SD card as the phone will allow.

What email app is out there that is very small, size wise, but also functions well??? Thanks again.

Well you are not going to find any email app that's less than a MB in size, and I don't really believe your Gmail app is either. Perhaps your settings are misestimating the size because the app is on the /system partition (i.e. part of the ROM) rather than in /data (where user apps live). On my tablet the installed GMail app is 18MB, while the download size for GMail in the Play Store is 9MB (not 0.9MB).

That's the other thing: the size in the Play Store is the download size, and the installed app will be bigger (by how much may depend on your Android version). For example, Aquamail on my phone is 21MB (app only).

So if you are that worried about size can you not set up a second account using the existing GMail app? Or does the phone not have another built in mail app (many do have a manufacturer's app in addition to GMail)? That would add the least to your storage.

If that doesn't work, the veritable K9 Mail app has a download size of 3MB, so it's likely that the installed app is also smaller (it's been several years since I last used K9, but while it isn't pretty it is functional and reliable).

I just looked again, and the Gmail app on my Casio Commando C771 is .98mb in size for the application. I will try to figure out a screen shot.

There was another email app on this phone from the factory, but it no longer works. I think Google or Verizon discontinued it's serviceability. That app was small too...it was just called Email. I wish it still worked.

I should check out K9 Mail. Thank you.

Looking for recommendations on an email app that works well, but doesn't use up too much memory in the app itself. I've tried a few, but haven't found one that works well and is compact in size.

Thank you in advance.
Honestly, I tried so many email apps.
And finally after 6 yrs, I found one that not only supports all types of email accounts, but also had one feature I've been craving..... the ability to backup the settings.
I change roms and reset my phone often, so to be able to just restore email accounts in 2 secs, is awesome
Auqamail is what u want

Samsung has an email app called Focus, but I found it to be GARBAGE. Out of a combination of curiosity and because I have a Hotmail account (yep, I'm old), I installed Microsoft Outlook. I love it. It handles anything I throw at it, it gives me priority messages separately from everything else in the inbox. I like the look and functionality.

AquaMail seems to work okay...but it does not show the "Spam" folder that is part of a Yahoo Mail account, which I have. That is a problem for me because some non spam messages always end up in that folder and I can't see them on AquaMail. In addition, AquaMail is on the plumper side at 9mb for the app on my specific device.

AquaMail does have some weirdness, but I think it could be tuned out in Settings. When I open emails, it does not load the whole email and does not load pictures that are in the email. It always gives me the option to Open the whole email, and Open the embedded pics.....but I haven't found the Settings to adjust that.
