My root functionality doesn't work on CM13 NIGHTLY - LG L70

I went to developer options and set root to apps and adb, but after months of flashing CM 13 my root still doesn't work. I confirmed it doesn't work when I ran root checker app. My CWM also doesn't work. When I restart in recovery my device is just black and nothing happens. When I boot into fastboot it shows [downloads] and the rest empty. I tried to install CWM following a youtube video but when I go into fastboot it says firmware update do not unplug usb 0% and its just stuck so I took out the battery and just rebooted.

Hi,
Maybe you should use TWRP. I've had no issues on d320n. Cheers!

Thanks. I want to install TWRP recovery, but I need root access I think. Is there a way to get TWRP with no root access, or even better just to force root access on CM13?

You're right, root access and bootloader unlock needed before changing recovery.
Did you solve it?
No I don't really know what to do. I installed CM13 Nightly very long ago. All I know is I have CWM, and I don't know how to get to it though. All I could remember is I accessed CWM using pc commands with android SDK. I just really want my root functionality back tbh.
