LG are giving away a free Google Home with early adopters of the G6.

If anyone is on the fence, will this entice you to buy?

I'd want to test out using a Google Home before knowing if I would like it.

Do you use the echo much Sol? This home automation/voice command thing is something I've not really bought into, nor can I see myself ever buying in to.

My kids use it more than me, but it is nice with new update that allows you to use the word "computer" instead of Alexis. I use it for the weather, read the local news , or for tune-in.... There is a lot it can do.....I am just waiting for better integration with an A/V receiver. I can get it to connect to my Denon, but I would like seamless integration where I tell it to play music and it knows to complete a BT link to my equipment.

There are so many things that people don't know about these AI products... Did you know you can use OK Google to say things like "remind me to buy milk when I am at Kroger" and when you arrive near the store it will remind you...Scary in a lot of ways! I think after the initial excitement wears off it turns into more of a conversation piece than anything....

So a second Google Home with the 2:1 LG G6. Tempting but I've only had my HTC 10 for a year. If the G6 had the HTC Ultras paint job I'd be in. Love the LG G6 form-factor though. Decisions, decisions...

BTW - I don't like the Ultras form-factor.

Not for the Google Home, no. I suspect I'll find something to do with it, but it's not something I'd buy anytime soon.

However, Sprint is also throwing in a 49" LG TV as well, for the pre-orders. I also don't need a new TV right now, but I was looking at upgrading my phone in the near future and leaning towards the G6 anyway, so yeah...after some time thinking, I pre-ordered, largely to get the free TV, too.

The phone is supposed to arrive today.

I wouldn't / didn't buy it just for the additional TV. That one is only 3" bigger than my current, although it's 60hz refresh rate to my current one's 120.

However, it was sufficient for me to pay a $60 early termination fee to get a phone I probably would have gotten in a couple months, anyway.

P.s. friggin' UPS showed up 21 minutes after the property office closed (I was at work), so I have to wait 'til Monday now.

I got this phone not caring about the google Home. I already have two Echos and don't need to confuse my wife with another system; she still has trouble with Echo, so adding another keyword and set of instructions will explode her head.

I will take advantage of the free unit, because ebay.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd vastly prefer 150 bucks off than a free item valued at 150 bucks.

Apparently, the promotion is not "live" yet. Probably because phone is not technically released until 4/7. I tried to fill out the form, but it came back and said IMEI not valid for this promotion. A chat with LG said this is common for new promos so give it a few days.....
