Music player that handles compilations

I've researched this extensively and can't seem to find a player that can help me. I currently own an ipod shuffle along with my Samsung Galaxy purely because of ios ability to handle compilation albums.

My issue is that every compilation I have while it comes up as a single album it splits the artist into individual listings. As I have 10+ years of eurovision in my music this means when I view by artist it drowns out my legitimate artists in this view with one track ones...

I know I can rewrite the tags to various artist and they'll all appear there but is there a way that I can view compilations separately to the normal artist list... like the ability to do so on ios. I'm getting kind of sick of carrying both devices around...

And how are you going to 'tell' the music player what is a compilation and what is not? You could try listing by 'folder' using a player that does this (I use Poweramp and also Music Folder Player). Or you could just ensure your music is suitably tagged so that you can list/play/edit it as you'd like. Best to do so on a PC though. I use mp3tag for this but there are other programs. I also regularly (well, when I remember, so not that regularly ... :) ) display my music in different PC media servers/players. That way I can usually see if I have a 'tag' problem.

FWIW, I've found every Android device and music player app, including Samsung, handles compilation albums no problem. And that does include a few albums that came via iTunes.

And does include my Eurovision compilation albums.

Could be a problem with the ID3 tagging?
