Report says Google will build an ad-blocking feature into Chrome

Google make a lot of money on ads but a new report says the company plans on building an ad-blocker into Chrome for both mobile and desktop. It's unclear if the feature will block all ads, or just block the offending ads.

I hear that Google will support plugin for mobile Chrome and it will be possible to block ads.
I don't believe that Google will provide the browser that will block the adds.

Also it doesn't make much sense, after some time ads will be shown differently. I mean not in iframe like currently. If you build in ad in your page on webserver level, it will be impossible to find out if it is an ad, it will be just part of your page.

Nice post, thank you. I understand it is possible and with vision you really can find any ad.
But advertising is a business. It might end up like AdBlock - they start to show approved ads
I agree. Open-source ones are a lot more trustworthy, like uBlock Origin. Not sure if they're gonna open-source it though.

I'm quoting that article to mean that, it makes sense that browsers and big players now decide to pick a side when the arms race seems to be nearing an end. Earlier Medium also pledges to change the ad-led ecosystem, though in a different way and with mixed PR.
