Moto E 2nd gen running Andriod 5.1 (I don't know what sweet treat that one is known as.)
Here's my situation that of course doesn't always happen, just some of the time. When not connected to wifi, using cell service, I have no data connection. Now this isn't a big deal since I'm around wifi most of the time and I don't use a lot of apps anyway. But when it is annoying is when I'm trying to send and receive a text since I use the Google Voice app for texting which uses data only to send and receive texts. When I attempt to send a text I get the sending message.
Then it will time out and I'll get the message not sent error.
At first I thought this was a Google Voice problem but then I noticed that I didn't have a data connection. I have a prepaid plan with Red Pocket, plenty of data left in my plan, 4 bars, all settings correct, APN settings correct, etc. I've checked and double-checked both my phone's settings and Google Voice settings and there's no reason I should not be able to send and receive text messages using my cell service. It works fine when I'm connected to wifi.
Any ideas?
