Hi there,

I have a LG Optimus 4XD, Its running on Android 4.03.

Before Tinder and LinkedIN worked well on my phone. I recently reset the phone.

Now Tinder and LinkedIN does not work, neither do some other apps.

It says "you have the latest software update"

What is a good solution? Ideally I would prefer running apps that are older and do not use as much RAM.

My phone is not rooted.

Thanks to those that reply.

Play Store is only offering latest versions of the apps of course, which now likely not compatible with such an old Android version, as 4.03

You could try apkmirror.com which has older versions of many commonly used apps. However with online things like Tinder and LinkedIn, etc. old version client apps may not be supported by their servers, because of things like data security, protocol changes, etc.

1. The older apps will take less ram?

2. There is no way to upgrade the android OS? (it says you have the most updated version of Android)

Hi,

On point 1, the amount of ram that an application consumes is more a relation to how well it was coded (or compiled) than the version or features that it delivers. So, the rule is that well developed software consumes less resources with time not more. Of course, this is not guaranteed and the developer may not be optimising their code.

On point 2, yes, you can very well update your phone to a later version of Android, just not officially. Most manufacturers stop releasing updates for their hardware after a year or two. So, if you want an update you will have to search the forums for custom ROM's for your phone.

Regards,
Eric.
