Connection issues with Samsung Gear VR

Samsung S8
Oculus software
Face Book Manager
Static IP

90 percent of the time I get no connection when using Oculus
No Internet or No WiFi messages...facebook account profile shows offline.
It connects when it feels like it then disconnects very shortly after.

WiFi is working with no issues that I know of since other devices work fine....even the phone works fine such as Youtube and browsers.

Is this more a problem with the S8 or the Gear VR? Check out the Gear VR app settings.

I wonder if your Galaxy S8 can only connect to a certain number of devices at once and when you try to connect your connections are somehow maxed out by other devices automatically connecting?

Just tossing ideas out there... but eventually something will stick! If not, seems like a hardware issue with your headset.

Thanks

It would be with S8 or with Oculus software.
The Gear VR is just lenses with touch pad and buttons.

I tried WiFi Analyzer on the S8 and seems to be a consistent WiFi connection and why I am leaning more to Oculus.
I was hoping in a bad way that others had this issue and a fix.

Tried
-Reboot
-Battery Pull
-802.11b or g or B&G instead of B,G, N
-Another channel
-Connect straight to Router instead of Access Point
-disabling .com.facebook.appmanager and another one labelled installer

I read somebody had same issue with another app...WebApp or something like that.

So not Oculus as fault.
It seems to be Galaxy on older Router

Solution:

My Router
D-Link router Model: DIR-655
Hardware Version: B1
FW: 2.11NA

Router Settings
Mixed 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b
Auto Channel Scan: Enabled
Transmission Rate: Best ( Automatic )
Channel Width: Auto 20/40 Mhz
Security Mode: WPA-Personal
WPA Mode: Auto (WPA and WPA2)
Cipher Type: TKIP & AES

The actual fix:
Allthough maybe just setting the Wireless inside the Router to TKIP only may work ( I did not try) AEP is better security for the network so enabling the Guest Zone in TKIP mode just for the Galaxy to use does the trick.

Create the Guest and use the Samsung Galaxy on it only...or with real guests if need.
Routing Zone - leave unchecked
Security Mode: WPA-Personal
WPA Mode: Auto (WPA and WPA2)
Cipher Type: TKIP Only
