Educated guess is security or exploit for the hush hush and shut down of the rollout.

Now I'm really glad I installed the "final" Developers Preview on my Huawei - whatever "glitch" (or glitches) there might be, I haven't really noticed and my watch is much more useful than it was previously - especially with the IPhone 6.

That is one of the few that did / are getting the OTA now.

There is one rather notable bug ... the thing no longer responds to 'ok google', you have to press the button (stem) to bring up the assistant for voice search. Hardly 'hands-free'

"Android Wear support forums' community manager Ernest has posted an update a few hours ago explaining the situation with the different Wear watches and their update timelines. He reiterated the watches that have already received the update, but most importantly, he said that the remaining models should receive their updates by end of April or late May. That's as specific as things get."

Just keep tapping repeatedly on the green "system is up to date" screen. Got mine from aw 1.5 in this way. Be sure to connect your phone to wifi network to speed up the process (disable bluetooth on phone to force wifi on the watch)

I sideloaded the update. It went smoothly. It was stuck on the spinning circles for about 6-7 minutes and I'm now doing the setup.

Update: It copied the email accounts and I'm learning to navigate now. Google assistant popped up.
