Help LG G3 SIM/SD Card malfunctioning after Verizon's 4CA update

Evening all, I have a LG G3 on Verizon

I did a software update on 4/15 that has given me continued issues detecting the Verizon network. It says "No SIM card - No Service" or "NO SIM Found"

Currently running 6.0 OS

It also randomly mounts and unmounts the SD card

Both problems started after the recent update installed earlier this week. Prior to that I was able to access the network as usual. Now only when I'm on wifi, unless it randomly finds the SIM and reconnects but doesn't last long

Brought it to a corporate store and had a new SIM inserted which only helped for a short while

Anyone else having this issue? Can I reconnect to Verizon software on my PC to rollback like a Windows update if possible?

Do have insurance but would prefer not to have to get a new phone again, as it's happened specifically with Verizon updates more then a general Android OS update

I'm having the same problem with my SD card right now.
The other day, it said it unmounted and that I should remove it to avoid data loss.

The card works fine when I plug it into a PC. And then when I tried using it in my phone again yesterday, it worked for a little bit, then kept "mounting/unmounting" again.
And now my LG G3 won't even read the card today. It can't detect any external storage anymore.

I've read around quite a bit that it's the SD card reader (hardware malfunction) of the G3 itself. So it "shouldn't" be because of any software malfunction. However, it's odd that most cases similar to ours happen after an update.

The card reader didn't start malfunctioning until about a week after the latest update. And I did notice, at one point, my phone got particularly hot (around the power button area) when it was in my pocket.

Remember last year when even updates on the S7 and S7 Edge caused some users to notice that their phones got hotter than normal (after the Note 7 fiasco, too)?

I've narrowed the problem down to a physical component - the SD card reader - but I feel as if the software update somehow caused that component to start malfunctioning.

This makes me hesitant to buy another LG phone, even though, for the time I've had the G3, I haven't had any other problem with it (with the exception of having to replace the original battery).

I ended up having to remove the card and haven't put it back in since. Probably won't till I get a new phone or a reader to transfer everything over

Don't know why a update would mess with the reader itself but seemed to cause different issues and actually isn't the first time a Verizon update has caused this for me either. Year or two ago a Verizon update caused the same issue but I don't remember if I was able to fix with a reboot or fresh reset
