Jackpot? What to do? Just recieved 2 for 1

So my wife, soon to be ex wife, broke my Inc last week. So I filed the claim, well today I recieved, not one, but Two Droid Incredibles. Should I return it, keep it for parts, or sell it?

Heres what happened. They sent to the wrong address, admitted they made the mistake and sent me another overnight. Well someone did an address correct, UPS got it, and the sent it to me too. So now I have 2 Incredibles? Im so lost now on what to do. Asked a friend at Best Buy and she said keep it...lol. She said put it on craigslist. Just looking for some views. I am generally an honest person, if it was an individual, then I would have not hesitated to return it. It would be nice to recoup my $89 though. Help!!

This isn't a case where they won't find out what happened to it...

You WILL get a bill and probably for the full price...

Whether or not they will bill you or track the phone matters not. Return it, you know that.

You'll get no judgment from me, but one thing worth mentioning is that the phone will probably not be able to be activated. The MEID number has more than likely been recorded as lost/stolen in Verizon's system. Plus there's traceability through UPS, so even if you sell it on Craigslist, the "illegal" or "lost/stolen" phone can be traced back to you . . . . . so if you plan on keeping it, the safest bets are to use it for parts or don't activate it & use the wifi only . . . . or you could always do the right thing and send it back to the big V

I did notice that the phones are selling for about 89 bucks over the actual full retail price on ebay. Probably will go higher if everyone is sold out.

I'm sure they have record of it and where it was sent and most likely will either send you something saying you must return it or they will charge you for it so i would send it back, since these phones don't use sim cards they are easy to track and make it impossible to unlock for another person to use if reported as lost or stolen.

Gotta agree with everyone else here--return it. First, it is the right thing to do. Second, as others have stated, you will get charged for the first phone when the warehouse doesn't get it back (at full retail price plus tax so figure $550). Third, the ESN will be locked and the phone will be worthless.

They charge you if you dont return the broken one. So trust me they will charge you for the extra one if you dont return it. Make sure you write down your tracking number.

It's simple. Call them and give them hinting questions. Just say, I'd like to review my past claim. Go into a couple things and elude to the fact that you were only supposed to receive one phone..

Try and get some feedback on whether or not they can see in their system that they sent you two phones.

If not, there is a possibility they will never know. Maybe just keep it.

It's not illegal. You didn't make the mistake and your bank account is dry so you can't afford to ship it back or call them about it. You only have so many minutes.

I did call, and the funny thing is, they only have record of sending me one phone. I went to Verizon and asked a guy what he would do (one that I know real good) and he said wait 90 days, if i dont hear nothing, keep it.

I hope you do have high enough morals to return the phone where it belongs. The insurance company was nice enough to send you one overnight because a simple shipping mistake and you repay them by doing this? I assure you that they know about this, considering that you called, UPS has tracking information, and now this thread, if they need it as proof when they decide to take you to court or just bill you the extra phone. Do you seriously believe that they will just forget about the other phone? Also, your reputation with them will be in the dumps and it will be recorded into their system. I just hope you know what the potential consequences of any negative action that you take can be.

If you decide to sell it, I can't wait to see how the story unravels. I love a good drama!

lol @ peopel who post in this thread about integrity, how many times have you been screwed over by cell phone companies for your bill, then when trying to clear it up get put on hold, lied to, hung up on, etc...

you really think cell phone companies are some epitome of human morality or something?
