On my 2013 Nexus 7 I have been having trouble with the wifi. I can fix it for a little while by rebooting the device, but that gets old pretty quickly.
Basically apps cannot get to the internet. Twitter, Reddit, even Chrome cannot get to the internet. However, if I type in the Google search bar at the top of the home screen, I can make searches go through. So, I have a strong feeling that the problem isn't with my Wifi setup, because it works in certain circumstances.
Turning off wifi on the tablet and turning it back on does not fix it. Is there any setting or change that might be able to fix this? I am afraid that this old tablet might be telling me it is ready to go to that old junk drawer in the sky.
