GroupMe app causes android.process.acore error

I installed the GroupMe app on my AT&T LG G2 (Android 5.0.2) recently and, upon installation, began getting the "unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped" message. I had actually had that error message bombard my phone previously, but that time it had been Facebook Messenger. I uninstalled Messenger and the error message happened to disappear. However, the error message is back, even though I chose to uninstall GroupMe immediately after realizing the error had returned. Me uninstalling GroupMe did not get rid of the error message.

With that in mind, could my specific problem be due to residual data left behind by the GroupMe app? I'm pretty sure I've isolated the problem as being GroupMe. I had solved the error message beforehand and my phone was running perfectly until I installed GroupMe, when the error message returned. I have since tried the standard tricks, clearing app data, clearing contacts, deleting Facebook, etc. I stopped short of a factory reset since I've already done one and do not want to do another. Given how I know what the problem is, I think the steps are clearer for me. Please let me know what I should do, knowing GroupMe brought this problem. Note that I tried to reinstall GroupMe but the error remained, so I deleted it again.

Any help is appreciated. Again, I've tried all the standard methods, so any information regarding how I can get rid of the error brought on by GroupMe is very much welcome. Thank you!
