So when I bought my Vans last week they were on sale and the Vans outlet was (is currently) running a promo buy one full price shoe get sale shoe half off. I couldn't pass that up. That said they didn't have my size in stock for the "full priced shoe" so they had to order it in. I just got a call, they arrived at the store today! I'll pick them up on lunch.

All told these were $49.99 full price and the others were on sale for $49.99 so I got 2 pairs of shoes for just about 80 bucks. Not too shabby. (The swede ones are normally $65, so I feel good about this purchase.) I think I might need an intervention though. It's starting to remind me of @rootabaga with his watch addiction. They are getting ready to release a new style and God do I want both colors. It's an illness y'all.

Here's the ones coming out shortly.

Speaking of shoes, I've got a pair of these that should be delivered today.

I'm hoping that they will be a suitable replacement for my beloved Puma SpeedCats that have been discontinued. I've been through a couple of other Puma motorsports shoes without finding a good replacement, so I'm venturing out a bit now.

No dice. Sole is too narrow for me to comfortably (safely) heel-toe.

On to the next one!

Ipad. It was on sale and it does some stuff I want that Android does not do. I can't download episodes of a craft site I belong to so I can watch the progress while I'm working on project. It also has a fairly decent CAD program so I can move furniture around in room on tablet before actually moving the furniture.I can watch the offline episodes of Craftsy while in the car with the Vulcan. Won't need data or wifi.

The last Acer I bought will NOT run my astronomy programs, the iPad will. I bought one I used to have on Palm, and one I do have on Android.

There are some nice free nature apps, but the apps that are sponsored by ads are really obnoxious. The little ads at the top and bottom of Android ad supported programs (usually trial versions in my case) run on the top and bottom of the app. These things in IOS open full page and blare music loud and you have to wait 3 seconds to close the suckers. This was gaming apps. The solitaire I really like on Android isn't on IOS.

If Android ever does do all I need, the damn iPad goes.

BTW - At Bat looks totally different and it has a 30 second skip. Android doesn't.

Had fun over the weekend. Got a couple new goodies for next years travels. (We're being optimistic that after both our surgeries (Rachel is doing great BTW) we'll be back to traveling the highways and byways of America.) SO in that vein may I introduce. Magellan RoadMate 6230-LM it's both a GPS (with forever maps updates) and a dash cam. :) Me likey, this way we can use it for nav and save data (on Fi) for actually looking stuff up. So yea.

Next up is for those beach excursions. We got a couple of Full Face Snorkel Masks, cause we both hate the normal kind.
