[HELP] Not getting notifications until I unlock my screen!

One thing I've noticed about Lollipop is that when disabling screen security, it doesn't give you the option to choose how to handle lockscreen notifications. It only pops up after setting up a security method and will keep whatever option you had selected when you disable the password.

I don't know if this is what happened to you but:

Go into settings>security>screen lock

Select pattern for example.

Go through the prompts to set a pattern then a screen will pop up asking you how to handle lockscreen notifications.
Make sure it is set to "show all notification content" or "hide sensitive notification content" if the "don't show notifications at all" option is checked.

Once you have that option where you want it you can then go back to swipe to unlock or any other method you want but for some reason you can only select that setting while creating some sort of password.

Thanks for sharing. I'll try that and see what happens. One thing I did notice is there's a setting under "Sound & notifications" labeled Lock Screen Notifications and it's been set to "always show notifications", I don't know what the deal is with this phone. It's on 5.0.1, and I saw that 5.1 fixed a problem with wifi sleeping when locked on earlier lollipop, but there isn't 5.1 OTA for this phone yet

Yes, I have mine set to always show notifications under notifications and sounds as well, but if it's disabled under screen security they will not display. That's the only thing I could think of off the top of my head that would block your lockscreen notifications.

Beforehand, my texts would show on the lock screen, but everything else, like Facebook, snapchat, email, Instagram, those internet based notifications wouldn't come through until I unlocked my phone. As if the wifi just idled and disconnected. Wifi sleep is turned off. I'll try what you said and see if it helps. :)

So, I did some research. I also went back to the Asus Launcher, but I think I found the culprit...

I disabled IPv6 Dynamic in my WAN and Wireless settings on my modem and router, and it seems my notifications come through. And when I re-enabled IPv6 Dynamic, notifications don't come through (on the lock screen for both enabled and disabled). So can that really be possible? A bug with IPv6 Dynamic on 5.0.1? But my girlfriend has 5.1 on her ZTE Mavern and had no problems when I had either of those settings changed on the router. This is really freaking weird. And I asked Asus today if we'd be getting 5.1 and the rep basically yelled at me and said he can't tell me anything about updates and he's not allowed to release any information and was switching the topic.

Ultra power saving mode will disable notifications when sleeping. Also if you went into Auto Start manager and turned programs off to save memory this will basically not even run the programs to provide notifications.
I've disabled power saver and disabled "hint of ultra save"... would it be safe to freeze the Power Saver app?
