Can't move photos to SD card

I have a Verizon Moto Z, which I bought at the end of December, with a 32GB SanDisk SD card installed. It is the same one I had used in my previous phone, a Samsung S5. When I used it in the Samsung, I was able to set it so that photos would be stored on the SD card by default.

I thought I had it set up that way on the Moto Z but recently when I checked storage I saw that all my pictures were being stored in internal storage, not the SD card. I can't find a setting in the stock camera app. When I tried to move the pictures, it didn't even show me the SD card as a choice.

However, I can see the SD card as well as the pictures on it. There is still plenty of space, whereas my internal storage is getting filled up. I am also able to select Move Media from the SD card and ask for images and videos to be moved. It acts like it's moving the pictures - shows a progress bar and a message not to eject the SD card, but it doesn't actually do anything.

I was reading on the Verizon forum that people are having problems with the SD card since the latest updates. I think it was working before on this phone, so probably stopped working after the update. Anyone here have this problem?

Is there a setting in the stock camera app to specify where to store the images? I can't find it.

While the camera app is open, swipe from left to right, which should bring up the option to store photos to your SD card.

Thanks for the replies. I had tried everything and nothing would work. After much aggravation and phone calls with Verizon, Motorola, and SanDisk, it was determined that there is something wrong with the SD card. Basically, my phone (and my PC) can read the card and see the files on the card, but can't write to it or delete from it. I copied all the files from the SD card to my PC and tried to format it, and it wouldn't let me.

SanDisk said they would replace the card if I provide all the information about place and date of purchase and then send it to them. It's probably 3 years old, at least, cost about $10, so just isn't worth the aggravation. Since I can't erase the files on it, I don't want to send it to them with all my stuff.
