Link2SD - missing apps after reboot

Hey gang.

I was running into the 'insufficient storage' errors on my S4, so after doing some research I decided to try Link2SD to move my apps and app data to a secondary partition on my external SD card.

I was able to create a 10 GB ext4 partition and then used Link2SD to select as many apps as it would and then did a Create Link - application file, dalvik-cache file, library files and internal data. It went through the list successfully, and I rebooted after it was done.

After the reboot, all the apps that I had moved over to my SD card no longer show up in the Launcher or the App Drawer. If I open Link2SD and look at Storage Info, I do see my "SD Card 2nd Part" mounted at /data/sdext2, and it's about half full. If I look in /data/sdext2, I do see all the .apk files for all the apps that got moved, and /data/sdext2/data has a ton of subfolders for all the apps as well (I'm assuming that's where the 'internal data' got moved to)?

I've read all the threads that say to do a Quick Reboot after the full reboot, but that hasn't helped me... all my apps stay gone. Doing a 'Recreate Mount Scripts' says that they're created successfully, but no change after a reboot. If I try to 'Relink all application files', it tells me that it found no files to link.

CyanogenMod 11-20140708-SNAPSHOT-M8-jflte
Android 4.4.4
Link2SD Plus 3.5.1

Can anyone lend a hand?

I recall having that problem (or maybe a similar problem) long ago. I think it had something to do with me switching ROMs or something. I think the only way that I was able to solve it was to wipe the EXT SD card partition (with something like the free PC software MiniTool Partition Wizard), uninstall Link2SD, and then re-install it.

I never did find a full fix for the issue, but I did narrow down the parameters a little.

After some testing, I've found that the file system I use doesn't matter... I tried FAT32, ext3 and ext4 and they were all ok... as long as I didn't do a "link internal data" for any apps. I can link the application file, the dalvik-cache file and/or the library files and everything operates the way it is supposed to. As soon as I try and link internal data, the app disappears on reboot.

I had the same problem. I wasn't able to figure out why Link2SD did this, but I was able to fix it myself. The "Link Internal Data" option in the paid version seems to be the culprit. This is buggy and stopped using it after a few apps disappeared after using this option. It would not let me uninstall/reinstall the disappeared apps until I went into several folders and deleted the shortcut links it created. I was getting an "Insufficient Storage Available" trying to reinstall the disappeared apps. Basically the "Link Internal Data" option in Link2SD puts data on ext2 partition and links by putting shortcuts in some of the folders listed below. After I deleted the shortcuts and all folders associated with the app, it let me reinstall. I do not remember which folders I found the shortcuts, but I used this "//android.stackexchange.com/questions/46926/android-folder-hierarchy/46934#46934" to help me find all of them. The list below is the ones that I think I went through.

| /data/app | .apk files of apps installed by the user |
| /data/dalvik-cache | optimized versions of installed apps

Bit late and reviving an old thread I know but this may be useful to others facing the same issue.

I have the LG G3 on Lollipop with Link2SD installed and had this exact issue, initially I had the paid version and was linking internal data but even when I used the free version and linked the three basic options I still got the uninstalled apps issue on every reboot. Every time this happened I had to mess around restoring all the apps using TBP.

Anyway I found a solution to my issue...I was moving the apps to the SD card using the standard APP2SD option which is built into android (also built into Link2SD as an option) and was then linking the three types of data to the SD card too...this is what was causing the issues! You should do one or the other (obviously you'll want to use the link option as that's the purpose of the app). When i chose that option and not BOTH it works fine and the apps remain on every reboot :)

Hello I have a similar problem with some apps.
After reading this discussion I recognized that all the apps that give me this problem, were the one installed before I would install Link2SD, that were already moved to the SD plus also Linked again after installing Link2SD.
Now I know that I shouldn't have done both actions, but before I didn't know and unfortunately the program didn't give any warning.
So now I basically see these apps with a standard android Icon from the menu, and if I try to click to open, it is saying "Sd card removed".
If I go in the Apps list from Android setting, these apps are not listed anymore. Also from Link2SD they are not listed anymore, but actually they were never uninstalled, and a non-working shortcut is present in the menu.
If I try to reinstall the app, then it's working, but it's creating a second shortcut, and I guess also leaving some garbage around.
How can I fix this mess in a clean way?
The best would be to just recover the already installed apps, since there are some games with stored progress, but that's not essential.
If not possible how to uninstall them, and then reinstall, since they are not listed in the apps?
As a last option I guess I should try to delete them manually but I would prefer to do the cleanest work possible, and also I don't know what to look for, since I'm a new Android user.

I have only the free version of Link2SD, rooted Lollipop 5,0.2 Lg L90 d410

Thank you for the help.
