Is there any way to stop automatic system updates?

Do you mean software updates ? Sorry just checking I am understanding correctly what you mean ... if so
Tap settings ... scroll down to Software Updates..
And you can turn off Automatic Updates .. you can then update if and when you want manually .. I use this option so I can do updates at a convenient time.
It is best to keep your pho e updated however ..
What are the problems your having ?
Maybe someone here found help you .

Hi all! I have Samsung gallaxy s7 edge. I have the nougat 7.0 firmware update already for like 4 months? And I know that nougat 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 isnt available for s7 edge yet? But still when I "check" for updates I always get this error message in picture below. And yes I do know that people are getting a similar message when trying to connect to WiFi on s7 edge? But I have no problems connecting to WiFi? Its "only" when I try to check for firmware updates? So I would appreciate it if someone here can help me? Or if someone can "guide me" to where to get help with this issue im having? Thanks!

Is it a carrier version S7 Edge, like Verizon or Sprint etc., and does the phone currently have service and a SIM from that carrier? Also possibly, is it a grey import from somewhere, like "international unlocked"?

My s7 edge is a "Verizon s7 edge" unlocked. But I switched to "cricket" like 3 months ago. And cricket runs on "at&t network".

From what I've read here on AF that might be the problem. A Verizon version phone is trying to ping Verizon servers for the updates, but as it hasn't got Verizon service they won't authenticate it. What can be done about it, maybe try updating it manually using Odin on a computer.

My phone has a cricket Sim. And "unlocked internationally"? Im not sure? But I do know that under network settings it says this....

"International unlocked" is what phones, especially Samsung, sold on Amazon or eBay are sometimes described as. But often they're grey imports from another region or country, like Hong Kong. And so they may not receive updates, when used outside of their intended region or country.

Thanks for the reply! Ill look into "how to update manually". And I might be back on here in a day or 2 or so if I cant figure out how to do that? Or if it don't work? Thanks!

Thanks for replying! So I assume if I get ahold of Samsung? They can tell me through the model number or some other number of this phone if it is an international phone? Right? But also I will research online what you just told me? Thanks!

If Verizon supplied your S7 Edge, then it's very likely a SM-G935V version, a US version device.
